Am I missing something?

Today I had a sale and promptly prepared the package for shipping. When I went to print a label, the amount was $20 and change. However, my buyer paid $11 and change for shipping. I went through all the details on the shipping page and the weight and measurements didn’t change. I also made sure when listing that it didn’t switch me to shipping method not based on calculated weight and size of package. So…what gives? Why did my buyer get $10 worth of free shipping?

Re: Am I missing something?

The shipping label, is it for Ground Advantage or Priority Mail?

Have a great day.

Re: Am I missing something?

Is it for the Vintage Power Rangers Tor The Shuttlezord Special Size Target Exclusive Pack

Your shipping information shows Ground Advantage? Is that the option you chose when buying the label?

What are the measurements and weight of the box?

It sounds like you may have purchased a priority label.

My guess is, there must be something off with the dimensions for the package in the listing.  That looks like a fairly largish box item.  It was showing like 9 something for me and looking at the item I can't see it being that cheap.

And the box it ships in may be bigger even.   That would run 20+ to ship via USPS.  You might look at UPS to see if you can get a better price there, but other than that, may have to take the hit on that one.

Re: Am I missing something?

What are the weight and package dimensions?

What service did you choose when printing the label?

What was the exact cost buyer paid and what was the exact cost you paid for the label?

Re: Am I missing something?

As I mentioned, I didn’t change the dimensions, weight or method of sending the package from when it was listed to when I was making a shipping label. Everything was the same. For some reason, buyer got a shipping quote of $11 and change and I had to pay $20 and change for the same thing. I already sent out the package.

Does the shipping label say Ground Advantage or Priority?

Yep, saw that. My questions still stand.

What are the weight and package dimensions?

What service did you choose when printing the label?

What was the exact cost buyer paid and what was the exact cost you paid for the label?

Re: Am I missing something?

For me, the item showed:

Which I think is a bit low, as I look at the size of the item.

Re: Am I missing something?

My best guess here:

Buyer paid $11.67 for a 4 lb Ground Adv shipment to zone 6.

Seller paid $20.40 for a 16 lb dimensional weight Ground Adv shipment to zone 6.

Difference being package dimensions on the listing differed from package dimensions on the label. I know the seller said they didn't change anything, but they're also refusing to provide the data so I'm looking at the most logical explanation.

I found a different version from what the original poster sold that said the product packaging was 18x11x10 - if we assume this box was a similar size, then add on the size of a shipping box, we can see it's over a cubic foot and dimensional rates would kick in. If we add an inch and say outer box was 19x12x11 that comes out to a 16 lb dimensional weight, which matches the rate the seller paid.

Without further information, best we can guess here is the original listing's dimensions were too small.

Hopefully the $9 loss does not break the bank on a $135 sale.
