Additional Shipping Cost Adjustments

I’ve been selling on eBay for over 20 years and have sold hundreds of items. I have always used the calculation method for my shipping labels. Putting in accurate size and weight of boxes rounding up. I have only had about five adjustments cost up until August 2023 whenever EBay started collecting for UPS and FEDEX labels. Now anything I ship UPS or FEDEX  I receive a cost adjustment from after the item is delivered. There is no way that these items are costing more. eBay acts like it’s UPS and FEDEX  charging more but it’s funny how that there was never no  cost adjustments until they took over. If I’m entering my  information correctly like I do and rounding up then whatever the buyer pays for shipping should be what the label cost and it is until later I receive additional charges from EBay. I’m losing money on lots of my items and thinking about totaling going out of business on EBay. For all these years Ebay has ripped off sellers charging selling fees on shipping cost. Which I understand some sellers up shipping cost and lower the price of item which is crazy and in this case should pay fees on shipping. Whenever shipping is calculated it I s the most cost effective for buyer and seller so neither is paying more than the actual cost and eBay should not charge fees on shipping. I’m not making anything on shipping. But that’s the way it’s been forever and you have to pay it, but now they are charging excessive amounts for additional shipping cost adjustments which they are  allowing UPS & FEDEX to do and not standing behind their long time sellers. There are other methods of selling items besides EBay which I have already been doing and been doing great. Maybe stick to smaller items that only ship USPS which never have adjustments. Which is weird it’s the only one EBay doesn’t collect for now. This all started whenever EBay changed how the label is charged. I would love to know if anyone else just started experiencing the same thing since August 2023.

Additional Shipping Cost Adjustments

Same here, December 2023.  Ebay charge me an additional $7 stating that UPS stated the box was 12 x 13 x 12 NOT the 12 x 12 x 12 box I shipped it in.  The box was not bulging.  I have images to prove.  Anyhow know I can contest this?

The only way to appeal cost adjustments for UPS/FedEx labels purchased through eBay is to contact eBay customer service and ask them to file the appeal.

UPS is strict about box outer dimensions. If a box has 12x12x12 printed on it, you need to measure to see if those are the inner or outer dimensions. I once got nailed with a UPS cost adjustment on a 12" cube because 12" was the box's inner dimension.

It sounds like UPS doesn’t round down dimensions if they are less than one half inch like USPS does.

I always round up dimensions and weight. So this shouldn’t be the reason for extra charges

You may want to post over on community.ebay.co.uk @royalspn - this is the .com forum and here in the US we don't use Evri.
