A question about tracking an eBay International Standard Delivery package

Shipped an item to the UK on July 29 by eBay International Standard Delivery

Tracking reads as follows (using the ES # supplied by eBay)

Aug 4 7:54 AM

Processed Compton

Aug 7 1:21 AM

Departed from export facility

Aug 12 2:24 PM

Processing completed at origin Compton

Aug 12 2:24 PM

Scanned into sack/container Compton

And then nothing.

Now, first, if it was processed in Compton on Aug 4 and then departed the facility on Aug 7 how was it able to be processed (apparently again) in Compton on the 12th? Where did it go when it departed the export facility on Aug 7?

The package also includes a USPS tracking number but when I enter that into the USPS website it is not recognized.

As I understand the process the package is airlifted to the UK by DHL. So shouldn’t I have gotten a DHL number? How do I locate the package that my customer is asking about and what do I tell them?

Re: A question about tracking an eBay International Standard Delivery package

Track the package here, it usually shows more detailed scans for ESUS numbers, along with the tracking number and carrier for the second leg of the journey.

Re: A question about tracking an eBay International Standard Delivery package

Looks like on Aug 12th they put it into a container in Compton. It probably won't get scanned again until the container reaches it's destination and is unloaded.  Who knows how long the container will sit there waiting to be filled so they can take it to the airport. And who knows how long it will take for them to unload in when it gets to the UK. What is the estimated delivery date?

Reason # 4 why I don't ship outside the USA.

Thank you. Unfortunately it does not who an estimated date. I usually ship via regular USPS intl and don't typically have this problem. Thought I would give it a try. Won't do it again.

Thanks. That did give me additional information. Unfortunately not enough to now where it is. Interestingly on the secondary shipping link it shows an update on Aug 19 (7 days after the last eBay update) BUT it did not include any text. So an update with no update.

A follow up for anyone who might be experiencing the same problem:

The link that @wastingtime101  provided shows that the package has in fact arrived in the UK and is currently moving through UK customs.

The link on the eBay page STILL SHOWS IT as still being in Compton CA.

Re: A question about tracking an eBay International Standard Delivery package

I ship worldwide but the one and only time I used this service, I had similar issues. Add covid to that equation and I’m much better off with Usps edelcon international first class package service. Most packages are in the buyers hands within a week.  It’s extremely rare to have an issue. And the cost is the same. The eBay service uses DHL...known for very slow delivery
