A brief clarification for who could not understand my former post

When I was challenging eBay's "underpaid shipment fines" that pour at me at the level of harassment, I did not mean the flat shipment rates that I offer in some of my listings. If I offer a flat $4 shipment rate regardless of the order's dimension or the buyer's location, I do it willfully. If the actual shipment sleet shows $ 7.80, however, because of the buyer's remote location, I pay $7.80 for shipment and charge the buyer $4. Yes, I deliberately lose on shipment but I gain in the order price. That's the way I choose to sell my items.

So, "underpaid shipment fines" are NOT about that. Those are extra charges as if the "order was heavier or larger than that I scaled" which is totally false. Moreover, the USPS has no problems with me. It is only eBay "moderators" who are BITTER because they also are sellers and I beat them by my fair offers, as opposed to their greedy deals.

No go ahead and copy-paste my lines to formulate your stupid lectures... But before you do, be advised that your "directions" have zero value for me.

Just to mention..on your' pick up only' items, you have 'Free USPS Ground Advantage' in the shipping details. Thats very confusing for a prospective buyer, not to mention making you responsible for the shipping cost..

The moderators here work for Khora and are subcontracted by eBay.  Their IDs are prefaced with "KH"

The posters here are buyers and sellers some with decades of experience, some with opinions. Most will have a feedback score (although some use a posting ID to protect their selling accounts).

So, "underpaid shipment fines" are NOT about that. Those are extra charges as if the "order was heavier or larger than that I scaled" which is totally false.

Have you had your scale balanced recently?

Are you using a flexible tape or a rigid ruler to measure dimensions?

When you hit a questionable weight or dimension are you averaging up or down?

Are those "fines" coming from USPS or from eBay? Could you show a screenshot of one that the posting community could examine?

Re: A brief clarification for the dummies who could not understand my former post

Others understand the problem just fine. It's not about what you're charging buyers for shipping. That's irrelevant to the shipping label you generate.

Cost adjustments are applied by USPS, not eBay. eBay even gives you a link to dispute the adjustment direct with USPS.

Others brought up the shipping rates you charge buyers because if you're upset about cost adjustments, it stands to reason you'd be upset about not getting enough money to cover the label.

Item 316239726021 (which still violates the choice policy because it's not set up for variations)

$1.10 item + $3.15 shipping and let's assume 7% sales tax for a total buyer payment of $4.55

Buyer pays $4.55

eBay fees $0.62 + $0.30 = $0.92

$4.55 minus $0.92 fees minus $0.30 sales tax leaves you with $3.33

A Ground Adv shipping label for a 4 oz item rural zip code in zone 8 will cost $4.51, or to zone 1 will cost $3.91

You're starting at a loss. That doesn't even factor in the cost of the item or shipping supplies.

Re: A brief clarification for the dummies who could not understand my former post

I do that with the shipping on some items too.

...and it does sound odd that you are getting hit with a bunch of underpaid shipment fines like that, but I missed the original story.

How do you expect to call people who volunteer their time to helping others “dummies” and get any helpful advice?  SMH . . .

More than 2. I asked yesterday what a sleet is and I think you asked on one of the other threads (the second one maybe, or third?) but I don't expect we'll ever get an answer.

Well, perhaps we'll get a funny answer if not a real one. 🙂

You have some nice items, and I expect you will continue to do well,as  buyers are attracted to very low shipping fees that do not actually cover the cost of the shipping, but come out of the sellers pocket.

Re: A brief clarification for the dummies who could not understand my former post

@stainlessenginecovers I have been a seller for over 20 years I never heard of a shipment sleet either.

To me a
Shipment is a package sent through a shipping service...

Where I come from "sleet" is rain mixed with snow

If you're getting hit with underpaid shipping, USPS does have a problem with you.

When you buy your shipping labels, are you entering the correct weight and box dimensions after the item is packaged?

The moderators here don't give a hoot about how you sell, they are here to moderate the boards.

Have a great day.

@nona-strega

Just a glance through your listings shows waaaaay too many instant losers with your "estimated" shipping costs.

These type of transactions will cost you money to complete.

Consider putting your listings on Time Away so no one can buy anything until you get a hold on shipping costs and can edit the listings accordingly.

Shipping is one of the biggest learning curves in online selling.

Re: A brief clarification for the dummies who could not understand my former post

@nona-strega

No "eBay moderators" are examining ANY of your items to detect shipping problems -- considering the millions of individual items listed on eBay, that would be impossible, as eBay does not employ that many "moderators," and their employment duties do not include examining individual listings.

In addition, the responses which you had previously received on your most previous thread did not come from eBay "moderators," but from unpaid volunteer eBay buyers and sellers, who are simply attempting to answer questions and offer suggestions to other eBay buyers and sellers.

And none of us deserve to be referred to as "low-life, abhorrent . . ."moderators" who are apparently  deluded by the self-grandeur psychosis that makes them believe that they hold a "PhD degree in eBay Academy of Science..."   You may not be aware of this, but there is an eBay Community Boards Code of Conduct, in which individuals on these boards agree to treat each other with respect.  Your insults definitely cross the line.

If you are receiving notifications through your eBay email delivery system regarding USPS underpayments, these emails are legitimate, and are not emanating directly from eBay:  since eBay is the contract-holder for the Pitney-Bowes license recorded on the eBay shipping label, USPS is naturally contacting eBay first regarding any postal shortages, and eBay is transferring the email to you to make the payments to USPS.

Several of us have received similar emails concerning postal shortages -- no one at eBay is deliberately plotting against you.

Those emails which you receive regarding  "underpaid shipment fines" should include a phone number, which is a toll-free 800 number to the USPS division which handles those issues.  In the past, when I have received similar "underpaid shipment fines," I simply phoned the 800 number -- and I was connected to a live human being, who walked me through the issue, and opened up an investigation case.

If the case is found in your favor, your account will be credited.

On the other hand, if your account is NOT credited, you may not receive an explanation from USPS as to the reason why.

Are you possibly shipping items in USPS Flat-Rate Priority boxes, but only paying USPS Ground Advantage rates?  That might account for your numerous "underpaid shipment fines."

I think they meant to type sheet. As in their "shipping sheet." Sometimes auto correction changes the word you typed.
