10AM comes before 12AM right - not on ebay

We were originally going to post about something ebay could do but noticed this when checking 'that' - now 'that' is after the photo.

As far as I know 12:04:33 - AM happens after 10:21:54 - AM. Right? So explain this -

Original subject:

We wanted to say ebay should hold the EISD amount when sending payments so it's 'there' when needed.

We don't use the other ebay freight forwarder deal that you have to sign up to so don't know if they take the label money when it's printed. Most likely not.

But we then noticed the time deal when the EISD thing when out for delivery in whatever country it was sent to, and we got the charge for it message, along with a 'we sent your..' one above it on the list - so the payment one was sent after - as far as we can tell.

Ebay had taken the payment for a US label bought after that item's payment was sent, but not for the EISD one that was deliver before the payment was sent - again as far as we can tell.

So as far as we can tell the charge for the label could have been taken from the payment sent - right?

Re: 10AM comes before 12AM right - not on ebay

12:00 A.M. is midnight, so happens before 10:00 A.M

12:00 P.M. is noon, so happens after 10:00 A.M.

Grade school stuff that you should know and don't apparently.

No, 12am is after midnight, 10am is 10 hours later.

Have A Great Day.

No.

12:04 AM is 4 minutes after midnight.

10:21 AM is 621 minutes after midnight.

The really odd thing here is that by repeatedly saying "we," it means that at least two people couldn't figure this out.

Thinking in military time might help

12 am is = 0:00 hours

10 am is 10:00 hours

1 pm is 13:00 hours

11 pm is 23:00 hours

Technically 12 am is both

0:00 and 24:00 but that seems like it would confuse more than help

Looks like a deposit was made on Dec 19 a bit less than 1 hour AFTER midnight.

10 hours later, at 10 in the morning, a 'label was purchased'

Looks right to me??

Yes, but 12:04 am seems like a little after noon, at least if you don't think about it too hard.

Others have responded about time, so I'll respond regarding shipping:

1. eISD is charged after a package is received at the hub, and because the amount can change if there was a seller error somewhere, eBay does not reserve funds in advance.

2. eIS, the program you are not opted in to, is like purchasing a label for any domestic shipment. You are charged for the label when you print it. eIS offers a lot more seller protections than eISD so whatever your hesitation is with opting in, you may want to reconsider.

Re: 10AM comes before 12AM right - not on ebay

What I don't understand is why anyone assumes everyone knows what an acronym stands for.  In this case I have no clue what EISD means, since the OP didn't write it out even once.  But okay it's their post, maybe they don't need anyone to understand.  What really gets me is when an obvious newbie (seller or buyer) posts a dilemma and replies are filled with acronyms as if they've been not only an eBay member but a Community member for ages.

Me, too, especially "MBG".

In the screenshot provided by the OP, you can see the "EIS..." part of the acronym spelled out.  I guess he assumed that everybody here is familiar with shipping internationally through eBay.

Re: 10AM comes before 12AM right - not on ebay

@steve_stuff

12:00 PM is the abbreviation for "12:00 Post Meridian."

"Meridian" refers to the the period of the day when the sun is directly in the middle of the sky; so "post meridian" refers to that period immediately following (or "post") that time -- also known as "noon."

Thus -- 12:00 PM is noon (12:00 Post Meridian).

12:00 AM is the abbreviation for "12:00 Ante Meridian", when the sun is directly in the opposite position ("ante meridian" or "before noon").

Thus -- 12:00 AM is midnight (12:00 Ante Meridian).

Re: 10AM comes before 12AM right - not on ebay

SORRY.

Person was half awake and three quarters asleep when she wrote the first part.

But the part about ebay holding the 'EISD' - aka -  'ebay international standard delivery' money was what she was really asking about - Someone said the amount could change - In that case ebay could just take more, like they did when 'available funds' were $1.83 short on the $22 dollar 'EISD' - aka - 'ebay international standard delivery' label before this one.

In this case they gave us the money just to take it back ten days later.

As to the EIS - aka - 'ebay international .. shipping?'  Was auto opted in but it seems that 'it' decided that we wanted to block every country with letters in it's name. International buyers couldn't pay.
