Is the eBay link in your browser opening in the eBay app? If so, you may be able to tap and hold the link to select "do not open in the app" or something similar to prevent that.
Some app users have been having problems searching lately. Make sure you have the latest version of the eBay app if you run into this problem.
If the problem is not related to the eBay app, try another browser to see if you get the same error.
