community boards

Why am I now just seeing a limited amount of threads?

In particular, why do I no longer see the M2M threads?

Did I do somethings to my settings, or is the the way it is since the community makeover?

I know that I can not post on those threads, but there are many posts there that have questions, and answers that keep us informed about many things on eBay.

I feel like I have been moved to the "children's table" ☹️

Other unread posts that used to show up are also gone.  Weekly chat posts no longer pops up.

Here is an alternative link to the Member to Member board that has some extra bells and whistles: it actually shows the time of the original post and the time and username of the latest reply:

Yes, they have buried or hidden many categories to make it more challenging, like a game.

At the top;
Knowledge Base>Buying and Selling Q&A>Member to Member support

or

General reply; I don't miss the MtoM postings myself. Because there were so many of them they pushed too much of the other postings off the board and most of us could not reply to them anyway. Heck, I couldn't even find a way to post a question on the board anyway. LOL

thanks @wesk_36  and @eburtonlab

Maybe one more sign that it is time to spend less time here.

Have had other things going "wednesday chat" time, but that has now become easy to catch up on even though I have to go find it. Looks like the "blues" will have less to do there.

Non-bump to the top when new posts are made to a thread may work out well to kill the boards.

I like seeing it all. I can scroll on by things that I don't want to read about.

Not that there are not good responders on the other boards, but I must say that I have learned a lot by reading the posts, and replies that were M2M posts.

TYVM, I am long time Seller but this is first time on Community Bd.  Had a bad experience with customer early this year (about February) and since then my great number of sales have dropped to almost zero!  Having talked a few times to Ebay they had suggestions for me on how to improve my selling experience but nothing to explain what has happened to my store.  I wondered if someone could black list a seller on the community  board?  Ebay ruled in my favor and a few days later they ruled on the buyer side and sent them the refund; all this without contacting me.  What do you think?

No.

How are your competitors doing?

There are many possible reasons why one item sells and an otherwise identical item does not.

Some factors are out of your control: the state of the economy and the overall demand for a product or the existence of substitutes for it; the number and quality of your competitors and their own listings; the geographic distribution of your potential buyers and the relative speed and cost of shipping; whether eBay is up and running, search is working, and payments are being processed.

All sellers are subject to all those potential factors to various degrees.

Other factors are entirely within your control: what items you list; how you list those items; the overall quality of your own listings -- the keywords and item-specifics you use, the quality of your descriptions and pictures; your chosen return policy, whether you offer combined shipping, promotions or sales, discounts and offers.

If there are some sales of identical items, that indicates there is some demand. If buyers are finding and buying your competitors' listings, then eBay is up and running, items are findable and the checkout and payment systems are working.

If your competitors' listings are being found and viewed but yours are not, what is the difference between your competitors' listings and yours? Keywords used? Category listed in? Item-specifics? Are your competitors listing other similar items that buyers are searching for and buying, offering a better bundle of items or better terms for multiple purchases, leading to additional sales? Have your competitors cultivated a strong base of repeat customers that come back again and again? Could you pursue a similar strategy?

Make sure you are doing what you can to make it easy for your potential buyers to find your items, and that your items compare favorably to those of your direct competitors when a purchase decision is being made.

Concentrate your efforts on things you have control over rather than the things you do not, where there are changes you can make that can affect the results you see, as opposed to the things that affect everyone and that you ultimately have no control over.
