Why so many questions now in the Member-to-Member Forum? We can't respond; limits useful discussion

Why are so many questions now posed in the Member-to-Member forum?  We miss out on so much good discussion when the majority of users cannot reply.  This week, I was researching an issue.  I found four prior posts asking my same, exact question - all four were posted in Member-to-Member - and none of them had a helpful/correct/complete response.  Later in the day, I found the answer and I was unable to respond to any of those four posts.  A little frustrating.

Hope you feel good. You made an 80 year old woman cry.  Hope that makes your day.

@readabouthorses ,  You need to review your comments and decide yourself whether you are being helpful or critical.  That is your responsibility.

I was not, and No one has been " accusing any mentor of avoiding questions"

a general overall observation of unanswered questions. That is all, and in light of the way this "discussion" has gone, I am no longer interested in any further participation on this subject or any other on the.com boards. I am done with the .com boards.

So y'all have a great day now and goodbye to all!

I have a question, and no slight or accusation intended.

In YOUR opinion, to the general ebay user, what do YOU think/believe that the title 'Mentor' means?

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

@gracieallen01 ,

It does not take a genius to see that comments from some  posters  have been made on this thread that are  insinuations and accusations  against the M2M Board and its Mentors.   This unfortunately put myself and @sunnysouth1  as Mentors on the M2M Board in a position where we felt we needed to explain and defend the M2M board.  These comments are certainly not in the nature of a community.  So, @gracieallen01 , your question to me is irrelevant and only serves to prolong this discussion.

Your question is similar to the one asked by the OP of this thread:

"Why are so many questions now posed in the Member-to-Member forum?"

The answer is that we have no idea what a general eBay user thinks "Mentor" means.

We can't read minds.....We just give quick help based on what the OP posted. 😐

However, I didn't ask for you to read a user's mind.  I ask the person what THEIR (or your) opinion is of what an average, general user might think a Mentor is.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

I wasn't concerned with insinuations or accusations (I think I already said that, or to that effect).  I thought I had  asked a simple question and I didn't think it irrelevant.  I'm sorry if you were offended.

Based your use of capital letters, underlined text and boldface font, I can't imagine why the poster would have been offended or taken your post the wrong way.

P.S. Claiming that you intend no slight or accusation with your question is a dead giveaway to watch out for whatever comes next . . .

@eleanor*rigby

I suppose it could be considered that way, if one wished to.  To me, considering the context of some of the posts, I didn't mean for mine to be included with those that might be.  Whatever.

As for the punctuation and underscoring, it seems that there are many who read things as they wish them to mean, rather than for what they actually say.  Do most people read something for what it might mean, rather than for what is says?

Hi everyone,

This thread is getting a bit heated. Please remember that it’s fine to disagree with others, but discussion should always remain courteous and respectful.

Thank you for your cooperation.

It is accurate, not inconsiderate.
"Community:
Noun - A community is a group of people who share something in common."
Being unable to share by commenting, or simply give a 'Thumbs Down' to a 'Members' post within the 'Community' is a far cry from helpful. This degree of controlling is ignorant. An example of the level of genius help that a mentor provided :
"You can't sell vape juice on eBay. It's their site... they make the rules."
Not helpful, not even a little. Plain rude.

I don't know what your problem is. On the M2M board we post the policy and when an OP wants to argue about the policy we tell them eBay makes the rules.

The comment was not rude.

That was simply an example of a Mentor being unhelpful. That does not address the whole Community can't comment only a Selected Member.....

Why is there not, at the very least, an unhelpful button?

Did you read about the Mentor Program? It tells you what the requirements are to answer questions on that board. As to why there isn't an unhelpful button, eBay makes the policies so direct your complaint to eBay.

And..there was nothing wrong with that comment.
