I read through the Guidelines for posting on The Community and "think" its okay to post a State Government email address for professional purposes. But, I thought I would go ahead and ask if anyone knows if this is permitted or not. While I can certainly post a request to contact the State Government and folks can find it themselves I want to make it easier for them to do so.

I've put em in several threads lately with no issues.

Like, for just your state? Or one for each of 50 states? Are you researching a specific department that regulates a particular issue for each of the 50 states? And you're going to post the email address for each of those departments?

Thanks for the question. This is to a specific department in my state although each state has one and I would be willing to participate with someone else's request (like mine) in their state.
The specific topic is our Governor's decision to not let PA Auction houses use "scheduled appointment" curb side pick up for transferring auction winnings to their customers. Initially he said it was okay then in one week changed it. I've spoken to several Auction company owners and they have submitted "variances" in an effort to get this changed. The argument I have (and the Auction companies agree with) is that online sales can be considered "life -sustaining" is the simple fact that life sustaining does not JUST apply to someone's physical well being but also their psychological well being. This could be in the form of obtaining items for crafts, music, collecting, etc. One Buyer recently purchased 2 player piano rolls from me, he's a repeat Buyer, and in one message he stated that in these trying times music is "therapeutic". Another Buyer said they were putting together a care package for their grand kids and called it "Pandemic Relief" ...
I have also posted on several threads that people are buying things they can do or use while stuck at home. This includes a run on cookware I had, models, train track and other scenery items, needle point (wife's sale), books, etc. Additionally, the "act of shopping" for many people gives them a feeling of normalcy and women especially have been deprived of going to stores (other then the grocery store) so for that group the next best thing is shopping online.
So, sorry for the lengthy reply but I think (hope) you get the idea. Scheduled appointments for curb side pick up is far and away safer then 100 people going to the local WalMart ALL at the same time to grocery shop after 20 plus Walmart employees have stocked shelves. For curb side pick up you show up at your appointed time ... you identify yourself from a distance with the invoice number you received by email, your order has been prepaid by credit card or you have a check or cash to leave with them. They place your items outside the house or their auction building and shut the door. You go and retrieve your items, load them in your car (or back of an open pick up truck) and leave. This can be done by keeping a lot more distance then the suggested 6 feet for "Social Distancing".
The email address would go directly to the department that handles the variances so they would be getting requests for them to consider granting the variances the auction firms have submitted ... squeaky wheel approach.

My sincere thanks @pburn and your story of your mom's friend hits the nail on the head. I am glad your state has gone to the lengths ours has. But what made sense here is we border on New York state and in order for New York's quarantines to be effective the surrounding states had to do the same, otherwise New Yorkers would have simply driven across the boarder to our "open" establishments ...
