I thought we could only edit for a limited time like five minutes. When did this change?

It was first noticed in early February. Based on checking which posts in my own posting history still have the "Edit reply" option, the time limit now seems to be about 24 hours.

I noticed a few months ago, by accident.
Not sure how long they give you now.

Hi crazystuff
Community started allowing edits of replies for up to 30 days after posting in December 2021. Previously, edits were limited to the first five minutes. This change was made to give users more flexibility in correcting or updating their responses.

This information is incorrect. Posts can only be edited for 24 hours not 30 days, and this was allowed beginning earlier in 2024.
Did someone ask you to post a reply here, and tell you that you would be employed by eBay and eBay would pay you to post replies on this community? Have you also been asked to post product reviews? This is a scam, and they are setting you up to cheat you and steal from you. Very soon, you are going to be asked to pay the scammers, in order to be able to withdraw your "pay".
This is called a task-scam or an order-grabbing scam. Sometimes the fake company is "eBay Mall" sometimes it's something else. Either way, it's fake.
eBay doesn't pay people to make forum posts or product reviews, or "grab orders". Nor do any other companies. No legitimate company pays for fake product reviews, and they don't need (or pay) middlemen to do anything with their customer's orders.
If the scammers ask you to sign up for a cryptocurrency account, DON'T DO IT. Don't give them any (more) money. You won't get anything back. More info:
