I notice I have been given a "handle", "Adventurer" under my username.
I am NOT an adventurer.
I'm an adult, not a nickname hound.
I object to the uninvited assignation.
What gives with this cutesy add-on?

The only posts I've ever seen that support or defend these have come from eBay staff.
It was a slow week at Ebay. Staff was just twiddling their thumbs with nothing to do. They HAD to justify their pay so they came up with this. And yes, it took a whole week.

They call me a "Thrill-Seeker" and I don't even like riding roller coasters. I think ebay had a "bring your children to work" day and let them create the idea.

You said: "Just ignore them. Nothing to get worked up about. It doesn't have an impact on your buying or selling in any way, shape, or form."
It's a thoughtless unwanted characterization of my self-image. It's a "behind-his-back" insult. It is rude, painful and something that grown-up people just don't do in adult polite society.

When the eBay.ca Canada forums got these current forums over a year ago, a topic was opened by the person implementing the forums asking what members wanted in the forums. Most of us had experience on the ebay.com USA forums and all the negative things here that were implemented and not wanted.
No ranking and all members show Community Member and not Adventurer or Rockstar. Browser spellcheck was implemented immediately when requested and not the useless Lithium spellcheck. Edit time for a post was changed from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. I can’t remember if there were more but the big ones as mentioned here were implemented in the first few days of the new forums on eBay Canada.
Sadly that person implementing the forums only lasted a year before employee cutbacks or most likely listening to forum members was let go from ebay.ca Canada.
The ranking names are so childish. If you have to have them, make them relevant to eBay and what forum members know and do. Mentor is about the only relevant name.
These useless meaningless names should be removed and either deleted with a generic Community Member (meaningless also but not insulting) or relevant names for a serious forum.

Another ego-driven techie who wants to impress their boss and themselves by making a change that nobody wants or needs. If they REALLY want to do something useful, scrap the feedback system and bring back 30 day listings.

After all very unpopular rules Ebay has imposed on it's sellers, I guess this is a little phycological preening.
What we need is a ebay sellers union. This new CEO and his shareholders make far too much profit at the expense of eBay sellers.

eBay is getting ridiculously sad. The unwanted categorized sub-head titles, the new rules, goodbye "30 day listings" and welcome "good til cancelled," the new idea's from the millennials that they are trying to implement...
I come to these forums/discussions to find needed information or to see what others feel/voice their concerns on the changes happening to eBay. I find so much garbage.
I liked the old eBay. To me it wasn't broke. Even the new "Managed Payments" is only offered to "certain" people by invite. The rest of us fall into oblivion until we are good enough for their specs.

I bet we can all come up with some niffy names for EBAY, but they would just remove them, claiming they violate the policy.
