Time for editing a post has expired

Please give us more than a few minutes of time to edit a post.   Sometimes, thoughts come to mind that I would like to add to my post, but I'm denied.  Give us at least an hour of editing allowed time.

An hour of editing time would be way too much.

If would wreck the discussion as the content of posts people had already replied to could be drastically changing - making the replies incoherent.

It would be very confusing.

When thoughts come to mind later, it's perfectly acceptable to post a new message immediately below your previous one.  If you want, you can say: Just thought of another thing: or a similar statement.

I don't see how that could work.  How many times would I have to reread every post in a  thread, to be sure I was au courant  with every poster's thinking?   And many posts would be confusing, if not downright meaningless, because they would be replies to posts that were subsequently changed.

If you have another thought, just add it in a new post.
