Navigating to A Non-Existent Forum Page (404 error) Indicates Not Signed In

While poking around looking for other forum areas (like the Cafe, groups, etc) I manually loaded

https://community.ebay.com/t5/       which resulted in a 404 error

"The page you are trying to access was not found. Please check your URL for typos and try again"

It however had a "Join the community" blue button up top, and my username/profile missing as if I were no longer signed in, and signing in does not remove the button or provide any indication of actually being signed in. I was however actually still logged in in other tabs and able to go about my business.

Something wonky with the 404 pages. Edge case bug but disconcerting.
