That was a really nice feel good story that would have made people see how nice transactions on eBay can turn out. Now it is buried over in the Ebay Cafe where I've never seen anything but complaining and junk posted. Plus it is next to IMPOSSIBLE to find in that mixed up mess called Groups. Going there feels like walking down a dark alley in the middle of nowhere trying to find a friend. You stumble onto groups that were started and have no members, groups that have no purpose, multiple groups doing the same thing and then you just give up and go back home to the Discussion Boards.

This seems like the type of publicity eBay would like and not want it buried in stupid Groups where no one will read it.
Seems like Lithium's time could be better spent mucking around and locking all those 2 year old and older threads that keep getting barfed up ... exactly how are those people finding them? Maybe that needs to be looked at as well.

Thanks so much! That is such a great feel good story and it really was about selling and how sometimes it isn't all about the money. It would be a shame for it not to be where more people who sell may read it and just reflect for a moment.

Just want to throw out a conflicting opinion. That thread, while heartwarming, isn't about selling per se. It clutters up the selling board for people who have substantive questions and concerns about selling. eBay Cafe was the perfect place for it. If any thread topic can be posted on any board, what's the point of identifying boards as though they were for different topics? Just have one big board, and anything goes.
People who frequent particular boards tend to post their threads on the boards where they hang out, even if it's not an appropriate topic for that particular board. Let's also keep in mind, cynical as it may be, that some people post feel good stories on a board they prefer in order to boost their helpful count on that board. While that isn't necessarily the case with the thread in question, we've certainly all seen it happen--without naming any members' names.
The mods are smart people. They know where thread topics belong.

Then if you want to dump such threads into Ebay Cafe then at least make the STUPID thing easier to find once the original thread disappears off the board it was moved from.
I have mucked around in those Groups so much trying to find some of the boards that were moved in that big move that took place and I still can't find some of the ones that I used to read and post on. They are buried so deep in horse doo-doo that I wonder if they even still exist.
So you don't think selling is about this story? Interesting.
And I could give a flying-fig about helpfuls. I can't even give helpfuls to anyone if I wanted to because I had to turn off all that stuff to even get the boards to load on my slow DSL connection. Helpfuls off ... Signatures off .. tags off and it still sometimes won't load completely.
