Interacting with spammers on community

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a tip that'll help keep our Community clean. When encountering spammers on Community, please refrain from interacting with spam posts as this encourages the spammer to keep posting. Replying to spam posts, encourages the spammer, and keeps the offensive material at the top of the Community forum list. By not replying, it has the chance to sink down the forum list. Let's not 'feed the troll' who's looking for a reaction from Community.

We ask that you please report this behavior to the moderators by clicking the options menu :options_arrow: then report inappropriate content. Our Moderators will remove the content as soon as possible.

I may be one of those who interact with some of them.

But I grew up in a different world where there was no such thing as a stupid question even if one has to repeat themselves.

I don't get why people can't just scroll past those threads if they find them tedious.  🤷‍♀️

Because one hopes there is more to the question then just a title.

@redmodelt

That can't be the reason. The first couple of lines of text of each beginning post are displayed on the desktop version, so one can clearly see whether an OP has added any further text to the thread. I'm not familiar with the appearance of the Community boards on the mobile app, though.  Is it different on the platform you're using? Can you see the first couple of lines of text in the OP's first post, or, conversely, if the thread is just a title, can you see if the first post is empty?

Heads up to anybody interested in clearing SPAM off the forum:

A lot of spammers will hide hyperlinks within punctuation so it's hard to detect. If you see that the period of a sentence is underlined, chances are there's a hidden spam hyperlink.

Since it's so easy to miss, when you submit the report tell the mods that the spam is a hyperlink within the sentence punctuation - in the example below it's in the period after the word application.
