What is awkward about it, your post does the same thing.

Yes, "gave helpful" and "give helpful" are awkward phrases. This was brought up to the former community manager when he changed it from "kudo" to "helpful" but he ignored it.

It's just as awkward on the notifications page where it says so-and-so "gave you a helpful."

Posters also complained because sometimes we hit the thumbs up when a post is funny, not necessarily because it's helpful. That was also ignored by the community manager at the time.

Maybe Sheila will have a different view than Alan did and she'll make some changes. Maybe she'll also consider getting rid of the titles like rockstar and trail blazer.

New posters to the forum think those titles are actually our userids.
