Has anyone noticed all the generic answers on almost every thread? What is up with that?
That is excellent specific advice. Thank you very much.
I welcome your decision and wish you well. And I adore your tidy home... wish I had one. Good luck.

One of them C&P' my earlier post in a thread word for word LOL
Except if you check the registrations, you will see these new posters are not from Sri Lanka. Each and every one of them is registered in the U.S. Anyhow, as annoying as the SRs posts sometimes were, they were of a different nature in several regards.

Not new at all. It's just gotten more intense recently, but they've been at it for the past year. You'd think five consecutive generic comments in thread after thread would attract the attention of the people in charge, but apparently not.
They maybe registered in the USA, but I doubt very much that they're located here.

They ARE annoying, but I find them fun to read. Especially enjoyed the "tidy home" one. It was in response to someone who said something to the effect that now they are no longer on eBay, they will have time to tidy up their home.

If by "people in charge," you mean moderators, it makes it sound as though moderators randomly read through or patrol threads on the discussion boards. They don't. They work off other participants reporting posts or threads.
FTR, I find those posts annoying, too, especially now that every post takes up so much real estate in the new community software redesign; however, five consecutive general comments do not violate any Community rules. Even if the mods were to randomly read threads--which, again, they don't--there wouldn't be anything they would do about it. No rule violation has taken place.
If you (meaning everyone reading this thread) were to report those posts, what rule violation would you cite? Disruptive posts, maybe, but I can't even get the mods to remove those huge, obnoxious, animated gif/memes some folks like to post. Those are more irritating to me that these goofy, one-line comments.

Most are Sri Lanka, but on the magilla troll thread recently, it was not just the Sri Lanka posters.
They appear to cut and paste from thread to thread. These also IM the same stuff over and over. I have gotten several. I just delete.
Usually happens late at night - few threads though lately, it was in the middle of the day.
Mildly annoying - our regular posters replies on some of these were quite funny.

Btw- appears new troll thread and at least 2 new zero FB IDs created today to post and disrupt.
A lot of anger and misplaced efforts.

The only thread I see that might fit that description is from a Sri Lankan poster. While those threads/posts are annoying, I don't consider those members to be "trolls." The thread from yesterday from a U.S.-registered poster asking if eBay was insured by the FDIC in every state (which still cracks me up) was a troll thread for sure . . .posted for the sole purpose of "exposing" eBay's perceived weaknesses. It failed. 😆
Maybe I'm missing which thread you're referring to? PM me if I have the wrong thread . . .

I have to agree. The posts in question are increasingly numerous and they are annoying, but they are not disruptive or trollish. There's nothing about them that's reportable, even for those with reporting tendencies. I don't know what the posts are, who they're really from, what their purpose is. And, as I've said, that's what makes me interested.

Forum sliding to take focus away from topic that reveals too much would be my guess. Doesn't look god when there are 10 active threads on the front page all about some poor guys who have been scammed for huge amounts.
