Do I have a wonky setting or something?

I have been looking around to see if I did something, because reading the boards is now confusing -- I know, I know, not unusual for me.   Anyway, now when I see a new post by someone on a thread I have read, it takes me to that post but they aren't in order now.  I guess if you respond to someone, the post is now backed up to that spot instead of the end of the thread.  So, now I end up reading the new post but rereading old posts that follow that I already read.   Did I do something to my preferences?

Has your setting accidentally been changed to "threaded format" instead of "linear format?" It sounds like you're describing a threaded format . . .

On the main page of a board, check the (three dots) Option drop-down menu to confirm it still says "linear format."

Would you mind updating this thread when you've checked your options?

I find that it inserts the post you are making immediately below the one being replied to and if I hit the 'reload' for the page, after posting, it puts my post at the bottom.  I hope that made sense - haven't had coffee, yet!

It's 'THEM'!

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Do I have a wonky setting or something?

I'll give an example of what I am experiencing.   Earlier this morning I responded to a post (#15) in a thread that had 20 responses.  Instead of my post being number 21, it appears as number 16 and not at the end of the thread.   So when I visit again, I am backed up behind read stuff and I reread before realizing I already read that stuff--annoying.  This is causing me to stop pulling up threads I've already visited, since I end up rereading stuff I already read.

Gracie--and you think your post is confusing.😁

😃  What's worse, is when we both say the same thing and even understand it!

Like I said, 'It's 'THEM'.  Perhaps it's like the 'streamlining' of the fees, or something.  Maybe a surprise Christmas present -  Nah.

Yes, yes yes!!!  That's exactly what I was trying to describe.  I know that's got to be it, so I just now looked and clicked on the opposite one.  I knew someone would know.  Thank you so much.  It has driven me crazy for days now.

Here's a funny/not funny thread started by eBay staff on the announcement of threaded replies:

Testing a new feature-Threaded replies

Notice how all the eBay employees--even those no one's ever heard of or seen post before or since--rushed to heap praise on the announcement. Then note how many users said "no, thanks."

That was enlightening.  I'm still not sure I've gotten out of it, but I've flipped the option back and forth a few times.  I'm tired of looking at the threads now and may look again tomorrow to see if I'm out of that maze.
