Cannot return to the previous location in posting history on the Profile page

When scrolling through my past Posts and Replies history on my own Profile page (https://community.ebay.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/2465849 in my case), returning to it after following one of its links never saves my last location in my posting history on the page.

If I return to it from elsewhere by clicking my Back button, it always comes up on Page 1 of my Posts tab. If I scroll to another page or (in particular) jump to the Replies tab and scroll through there, I can jump to any link shown there, but when I hit my Back button to return to the history, I'm dumped back on Page 1 of my Posts tab. If I was previously on, say, Page 7 of my Replies history when selecting a link, it's a pain to have to click my way over and down that path again to pick up where I left off.

In comparison, a similar history page that does do this correctly is the [userID's] Recent Posts Page (https://community.ebay.com/t5/forums/recentpostspage/post-type/message/user-id/2465849 in my case). I can go to Page 7 there, pick a link from there, and when I return later via Back button, it brings me back to Page 7, not Page 1. (Thanks to @wastingtime101 for pointing out this page.)

I'm sure it should not be a big deal to clear up this omission, so that when I come back to my Profile History page from whichever link I followed most recently, it will place me at the point in my history list where I jumped off, on either the Posts tab or Replies tab as appropriate.

We have resources assigned, finally, to fix the issue where if there are, for example, 30 posts on a page and you read only the first 5 and then come back later, it takes you to the last post.

While the team is working on fixing this, I'm going to bring up this issue as well. Perhaps it's something that they can easily address.

So the resources have been assigned, but work hasn't started yet.  I'll circle back soon.

Yes, please!

This was never my area of IT, but it does seem to fall into the general category of Remembering Where the User Left Off, so that we're not just going back to a particular page, but also going back to a particular location within that page. (In both this case and the previous one, it does require some pagination to find the previous endpoint, so I'm not expecting this to be a one-line fix, but it is functionality that was there before, if I remember right.)

This issue here does affect a different page than that of the original complaint about finding the previous location within Community threads, but hopefully whoever restores the functionality there will also know how to restore the missing code to the Profile page as well. Hope springs eternal; thanks...

Are you referring to opening notifications and/or private messages via the icons that appear on virtually any Community page? Or something/somewhere else?

Yeah. PM icon will not open in a new tab.

Bell icon will not open in a new tab, however I discovered that when you hover over it and wait for the pop up, you can open 'view all' link in a new tab. That works fine.

So it's just the envelope icon that needs some fixin'. 😁

PM icon will not open in a new tab.

This link seems to work for me:

There was a brief period where the bell icon stopped working altogether, but this bookmarked link worked:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/notificationfeed/page

Though I still cannot open individual messages in a separate tab or page.

Thanks @eburtonlab, I do have it bookmarked already. That's the link it takes you to when you click on the envelope icon, but I brought up the topic so we wouldn't have to either rely on a bookmark or leave the current page to open PMs. I realize it's a small thing, but it's an annoyance I thought was worth mentioning in case it's an easy fix for Khoros.

@wastingtime101

@eburtonlab

All four of those icons will open for me in a new tab or a new window or a new incognito window. The dropdown menu appear for me with a two-finger tap on my touchpad--sorry, can't remember what the equivalent is if you're using a mouse.

Just for the record:

Windows 10 OS

Chrome browser

Desktop platform

Touchpad instead of mouse

Here's the dropdown when I two-finger tap on the envelope. Same dropdown for any of the four icons/links. Just what I'd expect to see. And, of course, selecting the first option opens each successive page in its own tab, again, just the way it does anywhere else on the web. Are we still talking about the same thing?
