This account is used for EBay Community Forums for last few years. I have no issue creating posts and replying to post. Came across this post...
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/I-m-in-the-middle-of-Ukrainian-iPhone-Fraud/td-p/31566783
I can't reply because the reply box is all grey and says...
Sorry, either you cannot reply to this topic or you have not verified your email address by clicking on the verification link in the email we sent you when you registered. If you did not receive an email from us, or need us to resend it, please visit your User Profile page.
Of course I wouldn't find original verification email anymore, it was a few years ago. When I go to User Profile page, I don't see there anywhere to re-send the verification email. Anyhow, I am pretty certain I verified my email a few years ago, otherwise how would have I been able to post over the years.
Is this a bug on the forum page?

See the little green "lock" icon in the upper right hand corner of each post in that thread?
The thread has been locked by a moderator due to its age. NO ONE can reply to it.
Here's another clear hint--the last post in the thread:

I'm sorry for the trouble @itolduandso. If this is the eBay account you're referring to, I see that it's a few years old and it doesn't look like registration was completed. You could try contacting Customer Support to see if they can help you to clear this up.

Then how has this member been posting for all this time?
S/he has been registered with the Community since 2018 and has 80 posts recorded, including a number of threads/posts in just the last several weeks, as late as yesterday.
Did you investigate the link posted in the original post? S/he clearly tried to respond to a locked thread.
Please see Message #2 for the correct response to your issue.

I'm sorry @eleanor*rigby, I read that as their eBay Messages, not Community posts. I need more coffee I think. Thanks for getting them the correct answer given their Community issue and not eBay account issue!

OK, I didn't look at the green lock or the age of the post, just scrolled down and the post-reply box says I need to verify my account to post. The message is perhaps misleading or an error, it should say "You can't reply to old post and it has been locked".

eBay provides that icon as an alert that the reply button has been deactivated. It's up to users to notice it. The age of the thread would have been another clue.

The error box doesn't say you "need to verify [your] account to post." It gives two possible reasons for replies being blocked.

There are other reasons why a specific thread may be locked; e.g., an OP can ask the moderation team to lock a thread, the Weekly Chat is locked at a specific time, etc. It's not always determined by the age of a thread. There aren't error boxes with specific explanations for every possible scenario for a locked thread.
There are also reasons why a particular member cannot reply to a thread. People can't reply unless they've registered with the Community and are logged in, for example, or if they didn't click on the verification link when they registered.
The green "lock" icon and the opening phrase, "Sorry, either you cannot reply to this topic or . . . " should have been sufficient notice.
Also, the moderator's last post in the thread provided the explanation that users could no longer respond to the thread. See Message #2 above.

Hi it says this for me. Can anyone help? Also this is the first time but for some reason it lets me reply to these comments from this post so I want to ask this here

@hi_shoppie that post is closed for replies since it's an older post. I recommend that you create a new post if you want to talk about the topic further.
Since the current post is an older post, I'm going to go ahead and close this discussion.
