obviously it makes no sense since the buyer cant recieve bad feedback.. Not to mention , theres no incentive for the seller to leave feedback and waste the time they could be spending making sales .. Years ago it made sense , and now it simply doesnt.. Really if ebay thought the buyer feedback was important , theyd be paying the sellers to do so , or mandating it with strict enforcement.,

Stroking.
Just like the supermarket cashier who wishes you a nice day. She doesn't care and most people don't either but it adds a tiny touch of civility to the world.

I do it to tell my customers thank you.

Some buyers like to receive it, I use it to notify the buyer that the item has been sent and to thank them, and it only takes me seconds.
As you note, there is no requirement to do so, so need to think about it at all if you don't want to leave it.

Yes! I don't track because Canada Post charges way too much ( a $1.30 shipping charge turns into a $12 charge even domestically) so I put the date of shipping into the FB.
This also allows me to quickly find the transaction on my spreadsheet if I need to.
I wish eBay would return to putting the actual date of the transaction (or of the FB) on the FB page.

One of the easiest things you can do to increase your success on Ebay is to leave feedback as soon as payment is received. Buyers appreciate that and it shows you have confidence in yourself and your products. There is absolutely nothing to be gained by withholding it.

You need to leave a feedback to get your little number next your name to go up. The end.

As a buyer, if a seller does not leave me feedback, I won't leave them feedback (unless of course it is a negative experience)
As a seller, I leave buyers great feedback (if they deserve it) bc it gives a better chance to receive great feedback and, as mentioned, takes only seconds to do

thats completely false , the customers leave feedback regardless. I have 2500 feedback on my other page, me leaving feedback never changed the amount of feedback recieved.,

time , you can gain time by witholding it . A bit of leverage also if things go sour.

I do too. Especially if there was some kind of messaging or communication involved. There's always the chance that they'll come back to you because they enjoyed the experience. I have problems getting most buyers to leave any feedback. I'm fairly new to selling on ebay, and really would just just like to know if everyone's packages got to them safe. I hardy hear from people after the sale is done.

Use stored feedback comments. Once a week use the shipped & awaiting your feedback filter in Seller Hub-
https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord?filter=status:SHIPPED_WAITING_TO_GIVE_FEEDBACK
Check one box at the top to select all orders. Click the leave feedback box at the top of the page. When the pop up appears click submit feedback. Your stored comments will be randomly applied to all selected orders. It takes about a minute in total.

I do it simply because it is the right thing to do. Especially for new buyers who may not have any feedback and some sellers tend to ignore or worry about when making a sale.

In life we technically don't have to say please, thank you and you're welcome either, but you will if you want to have good manners. This is kind of the same thing to me.
