Is it always necessary for us as resellers to choose a preselected shipping option for the buyer (they are paying for the shipping fees) ? What happens if they choose incorrectly? For example: I sold a stuff animal plushie to a buyer and it will not fit into a priority padded flat rate envelope as the buyer selected. It can ship first class or regular priorty, but it seems lately all my first class shipping items are being pushed into being shipped as priority mail. I find it more confusing when the buyer pays for shipping than when I pay for shipping because sometimes buyers don't know much about choosing a less expensive form of shipping. Sorry this message is long. Thank you!

I see the Paw Patrol listed with Priority padded envelope, but checked some of your other listings that are set (properly) to First Class... I saw none with options. Are you sure that listing wasn't incorrect from the 'get-go'? Either way, send it Priority (not in a Flat Rate envelope, of course) since they did pay for Priority.

The buyer can only select shipping options that you offer. If you look at that listing, you'll see that the only shipping option available to the buyer was "USPS Priority Mail padded flat rate envelope".
It was your error, not the buyer's. They weren't given a choice.

If it doesn't fit in a padded flat rate envelop, why did you offer that as a shipping option? YOU choose what shipping options to offer...... Buyers can only chose from the options that are listed by you on the listing and ebay will choose the least expensive, fastest methods to show.

I started selling baseball cards and offer the “Standard Rate” option of $1.08 for cards selling for under $20 (per EBay rule) and charge $4.75 for cards over $20. The buyer paid over $20 for the card but was able to select the $1.08 option. My listing description clearly explains the shipping charges. What can I do to collect the correct amount? I sent him a message requesting the additional money but I’m not sure if he is able to. Please help.

Why do you have a shipping option on the listing that you can't use? You set the options for the buyer when you set up the listing.

Well I had the same issue with cards. It’s easier to just set it up idiot proof on there. People will try to skirt the system or hope you will just pay the extra and not deal with the hassle. To many people trying to get one over on someone. I also noticed it most the time people who know the rules like other card sellers and still try to get away with it..
