Just curious- does anyone know what exactly happens?
Does the buyer still see your listings?
Do they receive a message that they can't buy anything from you?
Can they still send you messages?

1 - Yes.
2 - No. (Not until they try)
3 - Yes.
And, they can still get around your block if they really want to. Don't forget to change your PayPal setting to NOT accept currencies other than USD - IF you want to limit payments from foreign countries and require that the buyer has a US PayPal account.

If it is the Russian buyer who wants your 2nd item then yes they can still contact you because you have been in a transaction with them already
They can still display all of your items but if they attempt to bid/buy they will receive a message that they cannot .
Will they realize they are on your BBL by the message they receive that I can't answer
Edit to say sorry @gracieallen01 you got this already. Off to the slow typing corner with more coffee

Confirmation from one with more hands-on is always welcome.
But, now that you mention it, more coffee is definitely in order for me!

Hopefully someone comes along and can give you accurate directions. I've never used PayPal, so I don't know the landscape - and that would just get you lost. Wiser ones than I have offered that suggestion/recommendation for a long time and it is good to parrot, just in case one isn't aware of it.

Shirley, you jest.
Can you imagine how cold that coffee would be by the time it got there?

Are you sure you want to block international?
Sounds like you got some shifty activity pretty quickly, and some categories are definitely more scam prone than others, but.....
At a time when many sellers are struggling for sales, is it wise to sell on an international platform yet cut out all but one’s own country?
I miss my international buyers, they used to be 1/4 of my business - but shipping costs have gotten so high. 😩

icicle, but then you could always send it with USPS express, it may cost you $110 plus, but the dimensions should be fairly small, maybe shipping no more than $99.50. Ice coffee in Maine is not a good idea, we still have only around 70 degrees, high 40s at night...

no I only blocked some international countries, but I did have to pay lots of extra for a PP german transaction, where PP charged an arm and a leg for exchanging the currency....And you are right, for heavy items its definitely a no shipping international, charges are totally insane. A german friend sends me 60 pounds for about $70, I have to pay more than double for half the pounds to Germany. Crazy.

There is a setting in your site preferences- buyer blocks- where you can disable messages from IDs on your blocked bidder list. As another poster already said- if you have been in communication with or in a transaction with the ID already then they can still message you. The message block will take effect after a few months and until then you can utilize the delete button. For all buyers you haven't been in communication with the block would take effect immediately.
