what do I do now?

I have delivery confirmation, here is a copy of the email I just got from buyer, "

Guess what? Item was forwarded to our vacation address outside Park Rapids, Minnesota , and supposedly was delivered the day we removed our mailbox (we do that every fall because snow plow has knocked it down one winter. However, I know it was not delivered before we took it down, and we left for Albuquerque the next morning. After checking with neighbor up there, this is still a mystery. I will call Park Rapids post office tomorrow to get more info. If it is lost, I’m afraid I will be request a refund". My reply was ok I and eBay will do everything to bla bla and it will take time to investigate, ect.? ok, so it's 50 bucks, but the account they bought from looks respectable, thoughts anyone?

By the buyers own statement they had mail forwarding From their Albuquerque to their summer house in Park Rapids. The buyer is stating the item was delivered after they left the summer house. Just pulling the mail box would not stop delivery of a package. The package is probably sitting in their porch. None of this is your fault and not a valid reason for a item not received claim. The buyer needs to call a neighbor that lives near the summer house to check their porch and pull the package so it will not get stolen or damaged.

Have you checked the tracking, yourself? Why would the buyer bother to send you a message before calling the PO?  If it got a delivery scan, then you are covered by seller protection and this is between the buyer and their PO, and/or the PO that forwarded it.

All you should have to do is provide tracking to prove delivery to the registered address. If it was forwarded by the post office, that is not your problem, the buyer will have to deal with that.

You are not obligated to refund when the tracking shows delivery. The buyer must provide a secure location for delivery. This is not your problem. Be extra-courteous to the buyer and empathize, but you regret you cannot offer a refund. If they open an Item Not Received claim, be sure to upload the tracking to the case, and you will prevail.

If tracking indicates delivery, they can't force a refund. If they file an INR claim, you upload tracking (assuming the status is "delivered") and you're done. It will close out in your favor.

All this business about removing mailboxes at vacation homes because snowplows knock them down in winter is not your responsibility. I would just say something like "please keep me updated" and leave it at that. If they message you back asking for a refund, I would say "tracking indicates it was delivered. If there is an issue, please contact the post office - that is something you need to do directly. I cannot do that for you".

This is true. You don't have standing to claim a package delivered to someone else was not received. The person who claims to not have received it needs to be the one to say so.

And, ebay does not hold you responsible for packages buyers claim to not have received when tracking indicates delivery. If they simply message you asking for a refund, you can point out that USPS says it was delivered, and leave it at that.

All of your sold items show shipping by USPS First Class. That doesn't include tracking, or was it added?.

USPS First Class package postage automatically includes tracking at no additional cost. None of the OP's recent sold items would be eligible to  be shipped as First Class letters or flats.

Yes, but it wasn't listed as first-class package, only first class.

I am thinking the seller may be saying that the buyers email, saying it was forwarded, was delivery confirmation, not tracking. Speculating

"I have delivery confirmation, here is a copy of the email I just got from buyer, "

Huh? Delivery confirmation is tracking.

You are misunderstanding me.

The seller sends things by first class mail. No tracking is supplied. Many sellers do this to save money and forgo tracking especially if the item(s) are small and light.

The seller here may be saying that the "delivery confirmation" is the buyer confirming delivery in the email.

Nothing the seller has listed, or has sold, would qualify for FC letter rate mail, only FCP, which automatically includes delivery confirmation.

If there wasn't any tracking, how would the buyer know it showed forwarded or any information about dates/delivery?

Nonetheless, that is the shipping method listed in the sellers terms.

That's a quote, in the email he said he received from the buyer.
