Is anyone else having problems with un-wanted phone calls from buyers?

That is just a bad option. 

1. why would eBay even allow that? That is a red flag for dealing outside of eBay. 

2. This just adds to more of our phone numbers being shared / sold to marketing.

So it's just one buyer? Why are they calling you?

Unless what you are sending is an eBay item #, that seems like you may be breaking one of eBay's rules.

How would you verify they were an eBay buyer and not Mr Joe Scammer?

I guess the next option is to just block the buyer on eBay and then the number on your phone.
