transactions concluded, items delivered, eBay still holds my funds for OVER TWO WEEKS!

I have sold two items to two different members at auction, both have received the items, yet eBay is still withholding my funds due to my relative "inexperience" despite my lengthy history selling under a different account, claiming they are "protecting (me) in case the buyer decides to claim the item wasn't delivered". I hand delivered one of the items and eBay seemed to want to penalize me for not using eBays shipping label. Last time I let eBay set the shipping cost, they charged far less than actual cost and then charged me more for the listing than the auction sold for! And i still followed thru and delivered. How the heck do they get away with including the shipping in the final value?

When you start a new account, ebay treats you like a new member.  I have been selling since 1998 with 2 other IDs. If I start selling with this one, I will be treated just like if I joined ebay today for the first time.  That is how it is.  If you need $$ fast, go back to the other  account or use both at the same time to keep some money coming in.  It's perfectly ok to have several accounts and use them at the same time as long as you do NOT bid on your own stuff.

"why is "seller does not accept returns" even an option and what happened to selling an item "as-is"?"

When a seller has a no returns policy, that only refers to remorse returns, as in..doesnt fit, I dont like it, found it cheaper, etc. The seller can then refuse the return, and Ebay will usually support them.

As for the 'as is' option, there is no such thing on Ebay, buyers are always protected if they file a not as described case.

Re: transactions concluded, items delivered, eBay still holds my funds for OVER TWO WEEKS!

Omg.  I had my biggest sale ever so happy over $6000.  You know what eBay does.  Puts a hold on my money.  I ask why?  They say high value.  So I talk to a guy at eBay.  I say I’m going to overnight this to buyer.  Get signature and you guarantee I’ll have my money in 3-6 days.  He says yes.  I get him to send me an email in writing saying this because I need the cash and if eBay is going to hold it any longer.  I’ll cancel the sale and sell offline.  I’m guaranteed.  So I thought.  The item was delivered a week ago with signature.  I phone today as the estimated date was august 28.  It is still on hold.  I get really perturbed and they say that will message the pay people.  Now it says estimate sept 19.   I will never use eBay again for high cost sales.  They keep my money a month or more for no dam good reason.  I have been there 16 years.  I’m not going to make 17.  The letter eBay sent me means nothing.  There is no honour with eBay I have just learned. I have a fairly large store.  I am now going to open my own website. EBay paid themselves over 600 for this sale.  They have paid me nothing.   In 16 years they have never held anything except returns.   But they sure are greedy. They get the interest off our money as long as they keep it.  I have threatened to leave before.  But.  This one is the last straw.

How are they greedy for holding your money ?

I would expect eBay to hold the funds on a 6k transaction for a month in case a return happens and you go 'oh I already spent it I don't have 6k'.

But since you're leaving I guess it doesnt matter anymore anyways. 👋

Can we just admit that payment holds are just a way that eBay covers their own butts and doesn’t further assist the seller nor the buyer. Also the holds are extremely too long. As a new seller every sell counts and so does every dollar made. In order to increase inventory and shipping supplies you’d figure eBay would at least try to help out a new seller when it comes to getting paid.

Of course it's eBay covering their butts.  Why wouldn't they?  You do, I hope, whenever possible.  It's part of doing business.  They're definitely not too long, they're exactly as long as eBay needs them to be.
