The way ebay has been lately I don't need to sort by number of bids~~they are all zero.

Dunno @aldorp889 , but when I'm on my Selling Manager page looking at "Active" items, if I click on the "Bids" column it sorts mine by the number of bids. but you may need to click the column header twice in order to see the list in descending order. I believe one click sorts the column in ascending order which if you have a lot items with "zero" bids it will appear you have no items with any bids until you drill down far enough in the list. Easier to just sort the list in descending order.
HTH.

actually I mean if you're searching for a specific item (for buying, not the Selling Manager page) and you set the format to "auction", you can't (since today) sort it anymore by the number of bids.

You might ask on the bidders/buyers board.............hover over discussion boards at the top............and then click on it......

I use this search method also and am **bleep** that it is no longer there.

I read another post where someone said they called Ebay and Ebay said that search option is now no longer available. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible! Absolutely terrible. Time to look for an alternative.

This isn't going to help my bidding. Guess bids are down these days!

Now I'm curious..............how did that search help your bidding in the first place ?
To me an item with a high number of bids just exposes a lot of users with poor bidding strategies..............JMO.

Not just bidding. I was planning on listing a bunch of highly-sought-after items on eBay next month and starting them all at $1 with no reserve. And, I knew I'd be safe doing that, because I'd get a ton of bids and my listings would be at the top of the bids list.
But, now that bidders can't search by number of bids, I'm not going to list them. eBay just cost themselves hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. From one single seller who only lists items rarely. Imagine how much this stupid decision is going to cost them from everyone else combined!
Oh yeah, and I bid on items by searching for bids all the time. So, they are losing even more revenue on the bidding side as well.
Do they ever think of their customers before they make stupid changes such as this?

I'm having this same challenge - can no longer sort by "number of bids - most first". Why did eBay delete this functionality.

Me, too. That is a very helpful function!

It is not just you. I used to rely on that feature to find popular items so I could make my own decision. I guess the problem was that some sellers had shill bids to increase prices and popularity on items that actually bilked some buyers. The real problem is a balance between bidder discernment and seller manipulation. The problem, to me, seemed most acute where bidder's identities is protected. I am just speculating that this is Ebay's reasoning behind the elimination of the sort by number of bids feature.
