It is beyond annoying that every single time I go to type a message to a potential customer the text box loses focus so that I can, for the 6 millionth time, be reminded of the "NEW!" feature of sending an offer (you know, that NEW! message that's been popping up for over a year?)
No matter how many times I close it, it is ALWAYS there the next time I reply to a message. Now, given how sloppy the programming is for pretty much the entirety of eBay's website this isn't surprising but has anyone found a way to permanatly disable this ridiculous pop-up?
In case you're confused it's the little pop-up dialog box that shows up when you reply to a message about an item you're selling to let you know that you can send an offer to the person right through the message. Certainly a handy feature but I don't need to be reminded of it every single time I reply to a message for the last year+. Come on eBay, get it together. We know you don't care about your sellers but this is just downright cruel.

My message window doesn't lose focus, I can just start typing and ignore the unneeded message.
What OS and browser?

I don't think it can be disabled.
Just ignore it and carry on.

Can you block it with adblock+?
I get rid of all sorts of slow-down code with that.

about as obnoxious as the EBAY SURVEY that pops up every time I log into the discussion board - even if I select the "X" which means nothing - it pops up again and again until I go to it - and NOTE UNSATISIFIED - but it does not matter if you pick satisified - it keeps popping up over and over and over........grrrr....................

I've never run into this that you are talking about as a buyer a or seller.
I also use Firefox with AdBlock+, maybe that is why.

seller. when I get a message from a potential buyer and I hit the REPLY button, in the top right of the message area there's a button for "SEND AN OFFER" and every single time I reply to a message there's a pop-up next to that send an offer button that says "NEW! Now you can send an offer directly to the member for this item. Learn more". but the kicker is that it doesn't pop up immediately. So I reply, start typing and THEN the stupid pop-up shows up and steals focus away from the message.
it is beyond obnoxious and annoying and it's an amatuerish/rookie programming mistake. you'd think a company like eBay would have the money/resournces to hire solid programmers but I guess not. they're too busy screwing over their sellers I guess so it's obviously not a priority for them.

Yes I understand what you are saying. I see that "button" up there too. But for me, nothing "pops up" and steals focus away from the message I am typing.
Are you using AdBlock software on your browser? If not, I highly recommend it. If you are using AdBlock and this is still happening, I am unsure what to say.

**UPDATE**
The behavior repeats in Microsoft Edge and in Firefox. The presence of an AdBlocker doesn't seem to affect it one way or another. The entire eBay site runs like absolute garbage in Firefox. Barely usable with each pageload taking 10-20 seconds. My computer is adware and virus free. This is just straight up sloppy programming by a multi-billion dollar company.
Laughable. Extremely frustrating... but laughable.

Adblock Plus Element Hiding Rule:
!contact.ebay.com##body>div#mymessages...div.ov-w [Send an offer popup on msg reply page] contact.ebay.com##body>div#mymessages>table#content>tbody>tr>td.CentralArea>div#CentralArea>div>div[class^='rsp']>form#contentForm>div.rsp-btnDv>div.ov-w
The line with the ! is a comment line, the second line is the filter rule. I enter comment lines in as another filter rule right above the actual rule to be able to keep track of what the rule is supposed to be doing.
That selector is pretty specific. Hopefully will work for other users. (specific prevents false positives, but tradeoff is more chance of failure to match when things change or are slightly different)
No focus stealing for me in Firefox 3.6.24 or FF31.
