So I have attempted to update my personal info on ebay, I moved in FEB 2025, to start selling again, my 3rd call to ebay. I have sold on ebay 23 years have took me this long to get 1379 feed back so I'm not a power seller.
They had the nerve to tell me I needed to create a new account! they don't have access to the parameters to update my info that I can EDIT. When I moved, my address, phone #, email address all of this changed. If I change one field it attempts to verify to an old email, or phone number.
So ebay telling me they can't help me after 23 years because I moved. I told them I'm not the only one that moves and changes address', phone #, email accounts, etc.
The programming needs to be fixed to allow someone to move and change all the parameters and they either don't know how to and are willing to lose a customer after 23 years. any advice??

You do this all yourself on your Ebay account. Why are you calling outsourced customer service people in Asia to do this for you?
Just go to your account settings and change ALL your addresses

If you do not have access to your old email address or phone number, you will likely have trouble updating any of that information. Customer service will not be able to change that fact. Why do you not have access to any previous contact method?

the system allows me to change these parameters, however, when they send a verification it goes to the old info. I am not the only one that moves and makes these changes . these fields are allowed to edited by me, Ebays programming need to be updated to allow a person to move and change these parameters

You opened your account yourself so you can update your personal information such as addresses yourself.
Go to your Account settings to find it click your user name in the upper right corner of your eBay ( in a web browser). Then click Addresses change all address registered address, ship from address , ship to address , return address and payment and pick up address

If you truly have no way of accessing your old email address and phone number (something I have never heard of happening, as those are not tied to your physical address), then eBay was correct, you will likely have to open a new account. How is eBay supposed to know you haven't hijacked a dormant account if you cannot verify any of the information on the account?
It sounds like you've tried to change it yourself, using the same steps recommended by @ebooksdiva, but if you haven't tried it that way, do that first.

I moved about 5 1/2 years ago. I changed my info in the account settings, but it took eBay about 2-3 years to change my shipping location on my listings. I did it my hand when I listed my items. They eventually did it automatically. Everything else changed easily and promptly.

eBay does not automatically change your shipping location on your listings... It can be done quickly and easily in bulk if needed, though.

Are you saying the verification email goes to an email account you no longer have? Why would you close out an email account that you use for eBay without first changing in eBay? Why would you change your email address simply because you changed your physical address? 🤔

If you can't verify the changes, you are probably out of luck. I am going to retire soon and I realized I had many of my web accounts (ebay, AMZ etc.) listed with my work email. Once I leave I will not have access to the account so I have been trying to make sure I find all these accounts and make the changes so I won't have to create a new one. Did you try contacting ebay through Facebook? You might get a better answer there.

I get that your phone number and address changed but your Email?
I have had the same Email since the 90's and never saw any need to change it. If you can't remember your password there are ways to retrieve it. Have you tried to do that?

OK, I can see how this could be a problem if you were using a landline for your phone number.
FYI, for selling on eBay now, you need to provide a mobile phone number that can receive texts. A landline number is not sufficient. That has been the case for a long time now. But maybe you had not run into that before.
However, there is no need to change your email address when you move from one house to another.
You should try to recover your email address, it might be possible. I have a .sbc email address, that got taken over by AT&T several decades ago, when they bought SBC. When I cancelled the AT&T internet service at my house, the .sbc email address just kept on keeping on. It continued to work. It still works just fine. It's managed by yahoo now. It's a yahoo email address, even though it still ends with .sbc.
If you can't recover your email address, and you didn't have a mobile number on your eBay account, then you will probably have to start a new eBay account.
