I often read this tidy house thing - and guess what, I know where it came from and it was infact a typo.

There was a thread here about a seller who googled a buyers address and found they live in a TINY house, a few others came in and said the usual, so what we do too and a little SL responder chimed in with "I like your TIDY house" - probably having no idea what a "tiny" house is.

Uselss information I know, but it is Saturday here and raining and I am bored LOL

Good.  Now explain, "an appointment for tattoos on your buyer," please.   That one really got me.  😕

"an appointment for tattoos on your buyer,"

mmm - making a time and day for sending a feedback revision claim form to remove the negative tattoo the buyer left on your selling account - Duh (LOL)

Uhhhh.... nope. 😖

I'm the first to post it. "I admire your tidy house. I wish I had one."

It was in response to that  OP's rant about MP and how she'd decided to just quit selling here... blah, blah, blah... and that at least her house would be tidier without eBay in her life. I just took the high road. 🙄

Then ... a SR 'copy-paster-poster' used it (totally out of context), and the beast was born. And it won't die. 😑

Re: selling

Well, the OP is registered in Sri Lanka as of July, 2021. It took me about 5 seconds to find that information.

@downunder-61

No one was more shocked than I was when I realized where it originated. 😮

Poster @itsjustasprain found the old thread and I dang near spit my coffee on my laptop when I read it.

- I have it bookmarked, but don't know how to locate my bookmarks, either... 😐

I wish it paid royalties... especially now that it's gone global. 😎

Hey - I just remembered something that I realized when I was rereading that original thread that I posted the link to.

Back when I wrote that early last month we were actually dealing with 2 separate areas of weirdness in the group. One was all the strange questions we were and still are getting from Sri Lanka posters for no clear reason. But the other problem was a big outbreak of nonsense replies from throwaway US Ebay accounts where they would post a whole bunch of nonsensical one-liners that had nothing to do with the topic of the thread. They transitioned from making up their own one-liners to lifting pieces of other posts instead - and one numbskull picked the 'tidy houses' line to reply with in a bunch of other places.

But I dont think anyone ever found an example of a Sri Lanka account posting those batches of nonsense replies. All the reply accounts - which were easy to track because they kept using the same limited set of replies over and over - were registered in the US. None were found from Sri Lanka.

I think the junk reply tidy house spammers have gone away or gotten filtered or something. Only the Sri Lanka posters remain.
