actually nearly THREE WEEKS AFTER the sale was completed and after it had been delivered!!!!! how in the world does that work, and what exactly is the point of even sending this email.
i've received a number of these over the past few months after not receiving anything like this in the past 20 years. i've received about 10 of these, and they have all been after the fact, usually about a week or. however, nothing like this one. sale completed may 12th, delivered may 18th, and received message june 1st. again, what exactly is the point of this after the fact.
can someone please explain this to me?

good morning,
this one as well as all the previous ones gave the same message. the buyer is no longer a registered ebay member, or something to that effect.

I am going to follow this question because the same thing has happened to me.
The tracking shows the item delivered way back in early May and the email cancelling came today.
This has happened to me twice before, I did nothing, and nothing happened. The thing in common with them all: All were 3rd Party Shipping using Forwarders.
So, they are tracked as delivered, HOWEVER, that delivered status is to the forwarding agency— THEY send it on from there. I wonder if, perhaps the item is still en route and as such, these types of items are tagged as "open.?"
Here is what the email actually said:
We wanted to let you know that a bid or order for the listing below was canceled because of an issue with the buyer’s account: 2255892***** - Vintage brooch Stemmed Flower w Rhinestones and green enameled leaves
We understand that this must be disappointing, but unfortunately the buyer, ********, is no longer registered on eBay so we had to cancel all of their open transactions.
Here’s what you should do
- Don’t complete the sale or ship the item to ********* if you haven’t done so yet.
- Don’t communicate any further with *********, especially if they get in touch with you outside of eBay.
- If ********* requests a payment or refund, don’t send any money without contacting eBay first. If payment was processed, a refund has not been issued yet just in case you’ve already shipped the item.
- If you already sent the item, contact the shipper to find out if you can stop the delivery and have the item returned to you.
- If your listing has ended, you can relist your item.
In my past situations with this same issue, which has been several months ago, I just didn't do anything because the item was long gone. Nothing came of it. I was never contacted again. I was not charged anything and so far I have not heard anything back about those transactions. I will do the same with the one I got today, but, I do admit, it is alarming to get an email like that!

They send the message when the buyer is booted......I've never heard of a seller having to refund (as I didn't on the few I've had).........don't worry about it.....and do nothing........
