This might help out until ebay fixes what they goofed up:
In the article about this issue on eccomercebytes.com someone posted a decent work-a-round.....
1. find listing you want to sell similar
2.control "C" to copy the entire title
3.go to my ebay
4. under the "listings" dropdown- select start new listing
5. control "v" to paste the title in the box that says "what are you selling"
6.then it will bring up the actual listing you saw as a "suggestion"
7. click on that and it will ask you to input the condition
8. click on that and it open the listing tool and populate the Item Specifics like it used to with the sell similar button.
I know its a 8 step work-a-round for a simple 1 step action with the sell similar button.... but this is ebay after-all- improvements never are one click into 8 clicks.......that's ebay magical innovation for sure
@siamjane8 the Sell One Like This option is still available in the eBay app as well, so for those who don't mind installing the app on their phone, there is a slightly less cumbersome workaround.
From the item in the app, scroll down past the ads to the Sell One Like This button.
That will create the basic listing with the IS copied over like usual, then just Save For Later.
And then hop over to desktop if you prefer and it should be in your Drafts in Seller Hub so you can continue the listing process from there with all of that information still saved.

I'll post a picture this time, the easiest workaround by far is to search, filter by sold and used, and use the sell one like this button directly from the search results.

Has this been fixed or something? I see it in both 'Seller Hub' 'Active Listings' (drop down on left where it says 'edit' and also when simply clicking on an item (it's on the left). I sell exclusively on P&A and have looked at listings I have that are 10 yrs old and some just made last week, all the same.
Also noted that it is on the listings that have been 'changed' to the 'new look' (still on top left)

@stainlessenginecovers there seems to have been a lot of confusion about this based on the "Sell Similar" wording that people are using.
To be absolutely clear this issue is only about the "Have One To Sell" or "Sell Now" button you may use to copy information over from another seller's listings if you are selling a similar item.
It does not affect the functionality in Seller Hub or your own listings to "Sell Similar" and create a draft/new listing from one of your active or ended items.
And so far, it only appears to be impacting specifically the ability to use "Have One To Sell" to create a listing from other listings in Motors Parts & Accessories categories.
Example of non-motors listing:
And a Motors listing:

thanks for the info on the app. For us thought the phone is just so simplistic and not real practical to use in a serious way. The effort required to even search on ebay anymore requires the use of a desktop to get any accurate results that are usable. Switching back and forth between a pnone and desktop seems to just add more hassle.
Thanks though for the ideas- we sellers al need to band together and figure this out until ebay weighs in

ah, got it. Thanks for the clarification. I've been using 'my own' listings for 10+ years and was concerned wouldn't be able to do that sometime soon.

@siamjane8 you're welcome!
If you find an item on desktop search that you want to use, I suppose you could take note of the item number and search by that in the app. That would get you right to that item and then you could "Sell One Like This" and go from there but all the hopping back and forth is certainly tedious and if this is an intentional change, who knows when it may hit the app as well.
Edit to add - it might be easier to add the item to your watch list and then view it from your watch list on the app, assuming you don't have any reason you wouldn't want it in your watch list.

@redline_auto_llc thanks for the pics- i did notice that they added that feature in on the sold listings....unfortunately what we sell does not often have a comparable "sold" listing to sell similar from-and the active listings do not have this feature......
It is better than nothing however for sure. Although it is still an added step because before you can be sure you want to "sell similar" you must at least look at the at listing so at that point you must back out of the listing to get back to the sell similar item link.....

@valueaddedresource Or....... ebay could just put the dang button back under the picture like its been for 28 years and avoid all this double and triple work lol....... I guess this whole situation is so ridiculous that we just have to laugh so we dont go crazy

The fitment chart is a joke. With the amount of trim options alone and the variation between makers there will never be a user friendly drop down system as reliable as just using a manufacturers part number. If a customer doesn't understand something as simple as a part number or where to find it on the part needing replaced then they shouldn't be attempting diy and should leave the repair work to professionals. Also, there are multiple online companies that their only service is providing part / fitment information that eBay and customers expect to be provided for free!!!! Go to try and buy a part from Cummins Caterpillar, John Deere, etc and see how much fitment info the original manufacturer gives (maybe an interchange # if you're lucky). There is a reason that every single manufacturer SELLS parts catalogues and repair manuals not give it away. My time and research is not free! Go to a diagnostic technician and ask them if they can tell you the problem for free.

Could a represented from ebay please respond to all of our questions about the missing "sell an item like this" or "sell now" button.
So far ebay's silence on this issue has been deafening and as long time customers of ebay we deserve at least a response as to why this change was made since it is negatively effecting our ability to list new items on this platform.
Thank you in advance for your response to the ebay community regarding this problem

Glad to hear it's fixed............but going on for 8 days with no information or fix......even for Ebay employees........ I was finally able to get some insight ......is discouraging. This directly impacted one of their pet verticals.......
I note a blog on Ecommercebytes on 10/25 called attention to the problem.......
Does it really take an outside source to get something fixed on Ebay?.......is the site so diversified/cumbersome/broken that employees, much less sellers, can't get info? Do the execs KNOW that this is going on?
Know this is asking alot.......but if you could forward this question to Adam Ireland, I'd appreciate it.......if you can't......well, you can't.......

Has anyone noticed all the listing data from a completed listing is now gone when you click to see the actual listing? I used to find a completed listing to "sell now" but not anymore unless you just want to rely on the summary. In fact, the bid history, description, etc. are all gone. **bleep**????? Let's make it even harder to sell on eBay.
