Exactly, love that feature and wish it would come back.
But I have noticed that the feature is still on the mobile app.
So know I find the similar item and start my new listing there.
Then I go to my computer to more easily revise the listing by changing pictures and putting in my std listing info, etc.
Kind of a pain but is a time saver like you have mentioned.

@crossbard I agree with one exception- Its not a "feature" it the core way to list on ebay from day one!
Listing flow has been so inhibited and its just frustrating to have ebay work against us a sellers
At least if they would just come out and let us know if it was a mistake or by design we would have someplace to start. Well technically its a mistake whether or not it was designed or a glitch/programming error

Maybe that's the reasoning behind it - get us to use the bleeping app, since so many of us are resistant to do so.
I assume that you have your mobile device synced with your computer in order to do that? Or are you listing it from your mobile, and then revising a live listing from your computer?

@ltldpr no synching between devices needed - if you start a listing on the app and save it as a draft, you should then be able to find it in your drafts in Seller Hub on desktop and finish it from there....assuming you're logged into the same eBay account in both the app and website. 🙂

@ci-motorsports I came here as well to see what is going on. A couple days ago my kid was like dad the sell similar is missing.
My response was that is impossible.
Then today I go to list and can't find it. What the heck is happening??
That's not a feature, its selling on ebay!

I think it is tied to the new "look" of the listing view page. it is my sincere hope that they just screw it up in the programming update because today at about 3pm they rolled back the update and the page went back to before the change, as if they realized the issues.... But now at 9 pm it is back again to the new look and there is no Sell similar item buttons again! This is just crazy. and the fact that ebay is completely ignoring us and not responding to our call for answers is even more disturbing.
Now there is a sell similar button on the search results page BUT only if the item was already sold- not a current listing. Even so- why is the button not on the page under the picture like it should be- you mst click on the listing to verify it is what you want to sell.... but now you must click back out to the main search to access the sell similar???.... I swear that there is not a single person that works in this company that has even bought or sold a single thing on ebay or they would see how maddening it is.....

I am stupefied by this. It is like dunkin donuts announcing they no longer sell donuts....
Has anyone found out yet if this is an intentional change by ebay or a test or a glitch or a complete disaster of an update rollout?
GIVE US BACK THE BUTTON!

totally agree - too many large sellers, recycle centers are uploading from checkmate and doing no research on fitment. They are just choosing every make and model of that particular vehicle. It makes the national advertising campaign worthless if they are not going to reprimand sellers for not using the fitment tool correctly.
10-26-2023 05:53 AM
@genesislights From what i have seen- the fitment tool has never been correct or even close to correct. ( out of 10 searches show completely wrong parts that say "fits your [.-@$-)
Its actually comical- i will search for a Ford part and the first results are promoted listings for a chevy truck and ebay says ( fits your chevy). Absolutely absurd- and to be fair- i check the listing and the seller has not spammed the item specifics or anything and they have not included the wrong vehicles in the fitment guide..... so why on earth does ebay say it fits??
Either way the fix to the problem is NOT to get rid of the sell similar button and make sellers waste more time listing- we already went down that road and ebay saw such a huge dropoff in new GMV that their heads were spinning and they had to fix the tool as fast as they could- sellers want fast and easy to list not slow and laborious

@esg-enterprises @ltldpr @genesislights @ci-motorsports
This might help out until ebay fixes what they goofed up:
In the article about this issue on eccomercebytes.com someone posted a decent work-a-round.....
1. find listing you want to sell similar
2.control "C" to copy the entire title
3.go to my ebay
4. under the "listings" dropdown- select start new listing
5. control "v" to paste the title in the box that says "what are you selling"
6.then it will bring up the actual listing you saw as a "suggestion"
7. click on that and it will ask you to input the condition
8. click on that and it open the listing tool and populate the Item Specifics like it used to with the sell similar button.
I know its a 8 step work-a-round for a simple 1 step action with the sell similar button.... but this is ebay after-all- improvements never are one click into 8 clicks.......that's ebay magical innovation for sure
