phone numbers, email address, physical location , why me and no one else

On Sept. 5th and 6th I was contacted by ebay on the phone and by email

They advised me that my phone number and my physical address was posted on my ads

and it was a violation of Ebay Policy to have these listed in my ads due to the fact that I could be

selling off ebay.  I advised them that the phone number as in there for the customer to call and make sure the part they are buying will fit and be compatable with their slot machine.  Ebay advised that

it is still a violation of ebay policy and to remove them or face suspension.   After 6 or 7 hours of removing my phone number and address from all my ads....I decided to look as my (competitors)

ads.  There I found my competitors have their phone number, physical address  listed in their ads 4 and 5 times each.  one (1) even states if you do not see it on ebay, just give us a call.  I do not understand why I am singled out .  I have contacted Ebay reference competitors ads, they are all

still active listings on Ebay. thank you

It was probably your competitors that reported your listings.

You know what to do.

The phone numbers are part of summer announcements......go into effect September this year.......so they are probably gradually sending the info out........

Buyers and sellers should use eBay Messaging to communicate. Listings and other eBay pages can no longer contain contact information such as email, phone numbers, and social media links effective September 2017

If they are the elite Ebay sellers, Ebay will do nothing to them. Otherwise, just keep reporting the ones that have the personal information

Ebay is in the process of getting the listings of all sellers corrected on the site.  So while you will be seeing other sellers that are breaching the rules regarding this.  Soon Ebay will catch up to them and they too will have to correct their listings.

The only question mark might be on what are fondly known as Mega sellers.  Not sure how or if this rule will apply to them.

You only remove it from your description, and then only if you have it there.  It's doesn't apply to payment, etc.

I'm confused..In my listing under payment options I have paypal checked and it say it requires an email address for payment..Is this the contact information they are talking about us removing?

No.

They are talking about phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses and website links in THE BODY of the Description where the public can see it.

Your PayPal email address is a necessary part of your listing and cannot be seen by the public.

Thank you..that's what I thought you were talking about..I dont have any contact information in my description section..that is why I was wondering why they were telling me to remove it and the only place I have it is in paymant options..I dont know..

Do you have serial numbers or model numbers or any other numbers that an eBay smartbot might confuse for a phone number in your listing descriptions?

Not that I can tell of course I'm not a smartbot..lol..its a listing for yoga magazines, pretty much the same as all my other magazine listings..they only cited me for this listing thus far.

I think it's your Auctiva links and/or gallery.

They are flagging any links that lead off-site.

I didn't realize Auctiva lead off site..thought it redirected you back to my eBay site listings..I have over 100 listing with that content..o boy

Tomorrow's another day..I'll try to clear the contents and start again and see if that works..will probly be back..thank you

I could't wait for tomorrow...I deleated all the Activa content and it worked..Thank you so much for your help..hope they dont tag the rest of my listing but if they do I know how to take care of it.
