Enter your listings as Calculated shipping, enter the proper weight and size and select the appropriate shipping method. The shipping will be correct so that no invoice is needed. 'Cause if I buy something I expect to be able to pay for it then and there.

Why in the world are you selling light weight license plates and showing shipping as "Freight - Check the item description or Contact the seller for details. See details"

Then you say

"PLEASE NOTE I ONLY SHIP USING PRIORITY SHIPPING.. THE COST OF SHIPPING IS DETERMINED BY YOUR ZIP CODE AND THE WEIGHT OF THE PACKAGE.""

A single license plate can go by first class mail and if you enter the info as above there is no need to wait for an invoice.

Sorry, but your problems are you own doing.

Hello. Richard and Jimmy are giving you great advice! The only addition I can make is that you should always ask your multi-item buyers whether or not they mind if you ship their items shipped together. Some folks pay separately because they want them shipped separately. BTW, very decent of you to do the postal partial refunds.

Are you referring to AUCTIONS or BIN listings?

Ray, for the plates you are selling, I would use the USPS Priority mail flat rate padded envelopes. The USPS will send the envelopes to you for free. There's lots of room in these envelopes , so you can protect the plates between multiple layers of cardboard. Then select padded flat rate envelope in your shipping options. You'll make a buck or two on the shipping for each sale, use this to help cover the eBay fee.

First class would be an option, but you sell some more expensive plates. The Priority comes with $100 insurance included, while you would have to pay for that with first class.

You sell some cool plates!

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

As others have mentioned.  Use the calculated shipping, or use flat rate shipping supplies.  Go to the USPS website and see which supplies would work best for you and order some, they are free to use, you just have to purchase the appropriate shipping when you use them.  Not all of the items on the USPS site are flat rate so that is where the calculated shipping would come in.

I would think a Padded flat rate envelope might be what you need, since they are 12 1/2" long when closed, but I don't know the how easily the plate could be bent or otherwise damaged.  If the padded envelope won't work for you, I would offer a regular priority mail shipping cost, for instance if you select one of these packages from USPS 1092, 1095, or 1097 boxes, and probably a medium flat rate box (the one that opens on the ends not the top), that way if one is less expensive for the distance, the customer can choose which one.

At any rate, go to the USPS site and click on "send" then on " stamps and supplies" so you can select a package that will work for you.  That way you can put shipping method, size of package and weight into the listing and avoid the need to mess around after the fact.

Yes, his completed listings show the retail calculated postage rates for 1 or 2 pounds via Priority Mail. But his active listings all show "freight" and he has a neutral feedback due to charging "more than $12.00" for shipping.  So I think he's trying to avoid getting another bad feedback due to the shipping costs. One solution would be to set his listings to charge the online rate rather than retail; or as noted above, use padded FRE with cardboard as reinforcement.

Why are you selling license plates and listing shipping as freight?

Set your listings up with calculated shipping and it will figure the shipping for you based on weight and location.
