I just got the "new to me" chat-style format messaging system, wow what a horrible experience.
The eBay user experience continues to go downhill.
I already clicked the "tell us what you think" link.
Just my 2 cents worth

Some like it and others don't. I like that the emails from the same member are threaded together. I find that very helpful.
What is it that you find most annoying?

I just got the new format also and have mixed feelings about it. Just learning to navigate through the changes and features so don't have a final opinion at this point. However, I wish eBay would refrain from making these types of changes in the 4th quarter.

If I receive a message I want to click on it, have a clean sheet to reply and hit send. I don't want to be entertained, stare at multiple colors/symbols and be limited to 5-10% of the screen to compose my reply. With the old systems if I received multiple messages from a member the string was usually contained in the latest message.

Same here. I sent a message yesterday and said to myself, so now we are doing instant messaging instead of emails? I thought the old email system was fine, but I guess eBay knows better and doing what the people want. I'd rather just do emails the old way.
Seems like eBay loves making surprise changes without notifying users, unless these were posted in the Anouncement section.

I'm used to it from other sites and general messaging, so it makes no difference to me.

I only use the Desk Top version. That isn't an issue. I can imagine with the limited screen space it is very different in the App.

This isn't a "surprise" change. It was announced in the June Seller Update. We have actually had access to this version of messages for a couple of years. They just recently updated it and gave it most of the tools/options we had in the classic view.

I guess it's only a surprise to me then, I never seen this type of messaging change until a few days ago. Yes, I see the 2024 Summer Seller Update you are referring to and we can get updates there. I think it would be better just to send an email to sellers and tell them it takes effect this week instead of just implementing it without most people knowing about it. That's the point, we are making here, not that you can read about it from the June update section.

Agreed on all the above points. I was surprised also, Al got me again. I'm just a seller just think of all the buyers we are losing because of the changes. Oh yes, that's correct we need the buyers to read the updates not spend their time focusing on buying stuff. With all these unneeded constant changes I don't have time to read updates. I'm to **bleep** that I have to continually fight to find a decent search engine or format and now a decent email forum. I just want to list stuff not spend all this time trying to figure out all these unwanted changes. The other night it was the item specifics glitch and the list goes on. Just all this wasted time WHY?. I know I'm a dinosaur and should just leave Ebay, been told this numerous times. So I'm slowly transitioning away from this venue as Ebay seems not to need my paltry fees.

Most would probably consider me a dinosaur too. I want the same as you, simple, functioning, eBay. I don't mind some changes here and there, but don't make us search around your website looking for information, (wait, that's right we have to go to Seller updates, sorry my mistake - geez) and make us waste our valuable time while we are trying to sell and want buyers to communicate and buy stuff. The messaging system was normal, simple, now if they want to improve the app or whatever, fine. I guess, us dinosaurs need to adapt before we are extinct. lol eBay will force us to like the new messaging view / system. The users have spoken and they want it this way, according to eBay, or do they??

They did that. The Summer Seller Update was an email to all sellers. Is it that you don't like the title of the email? Are you asking for a separate email for each item covered in a Seller Update?
If most sellers didn't know about it, then they did not read the Summer Seller Update, which is always a risky thing to ignore.

Why not email the week before doing the change? I don't think everyone will remember the emails and updates from June when the change takes place in November.

My husband is a buyer and he was very confused by the new format. He was trying to respond to a seller's message. He cussed and carried on, and I had to walk him through it. There wasn't even a box to put his reply, once he found the correct message.
⁹I have already expressed my feedback, but buyers are not offered that option. My husband has been buying off of eBay for many years, and messaging with sellers, and he really doesn't like this change.

Not sure I get the question. The new version was there in June. A reminder email for what exactly? For the new version? They did that in June, some just chose to ignore it in the hopes it might just go away.
