negative feedback

It is ridiculous that a buyer can leave negative feedback because they did not like a counteroffer

Re: negative feedback

I don't agree that they should have left a negative for that. If they accepted the counteroffer they must have been happy with that price. However, I wouldn't ever  counteroffer for just .25 under the price.  It doesn't seem worthwhile for buyer or seller to haggle over a small amount like that though perhaps that's just me.

Re: negative feedback

Sorry you got tagged.

Look at it this way... it'll scare away low-ballers. For a whole year.

Re: negative feedback

I would feel insulted if I made an offer and a seller countered with a price just 25 cents lower than the original price. Why would you even offer “Make Offer” if all you were willing to accept was 25 cents off? I think you set yourself up for that one.

Re: negative feedback

It might keep away more than just just low ballers. I would never buy from a seller who would invite offers to only counter 25 cents lower than the asking price. Why invite offers in the first place?

Re: negative feedback

I would call and try to get it removed. I don't think a buyer should be able to leave a negative just because he didn't like your counteroffer. What's next, best offer extortion? Accept my offer or I'll leave you a negative!

I feel insulted when I get sent a 10 dollar offer for a 100 dollar item, but my policy is to always keep it professional. It's not always easy.

Re: negative feedback

When that happens to me I ask them if the parents know they are playing around on the computer and block them because they are a complete waste of my time !

Re: negative feedback

That does not warrant a negative feedback that is cold blooded !

Re: negative feedback

I dont think it was unreasonable counter offer.  The item was $6.  I would say there is a lot less wiggle room in low priced items.  I offer best offers on 95% of my items no matter the price.  I have a general percentage I can work with on a discount.  In some cases, with low cost items, that number is less than $0.25
