matrics

this ai Matrics is for the birds, e-bay charging me 6% more on sale because of lost mail climes, they sent me a message that they would revalue my Matrics on July 20, but started shutting down my site as of yesterday, called customer service, they told me there was nothing they could do, and no one i could talk too, to fix the problem, that tells me this system is driven by an ai system only, just a heads up is you have a store and a dispute over an item just send a refund, or you won't have a store for long, I'm in the prosses, of other places to sell sports card, anybody have any ideas let me know, thanks from a former seller to be.

I completely understand adhering to rules. Unfortunately, it gets to a point though, where things are unjust and have only negative repercussions for sellers, even if they are a top rated seller doing the right thing. There are always going to be bad apple customers that open incorrect cases. Which doesn’t matter in the eyes of Ebay to me it is just wrong. Especially being these figures that they say for averages, and the levels of categories are not given. Varying numbers still have concrete figures for levels. Just adhering to rules has got a lot of groups of people in this world in trouble. So when I feel something is wrong, I am obviously going to voice how I feel being that it feels quite unlawful. Especially being that there is no arbitration process of actually knowing what the buyer says is true. It is based off solely what they open the case as. If someone was to say that you murdered someone wouldn’t you like a chance at having due process? Or should we just take what they say for face?

@properthreadz

 Comparing a murder case to a Item Not as Described case is silly.

If eBay performed arbitration for INAD cases, which can't be proven anyways, final value fees might start at 20%.

EBay has no way of knowing who might be lying and who is not. Any evidence presented can be doctored and manipulated a thousand ways.

EBay has no choice but to believe the buyers. Their credit card issuers protect them anyways. If they somehow lose a case with eBay,  they just go ahead and file a payment dispute.  Slam dunk.

Re: matrics

Murder is obviously a very extreme example. Here’s a much less harsh example. How would you like it if somebody accused you of theft but you never got a fair chance at proving your innocence? There are plenty of people that open item not as described cases so that they do not have to incur any expense out of their pocket for fees or shipping. I myself offer free returns and free shipping to hopefully sway buyers towards doing the right thing.

Correct I agree Ebay has no way of knowing who is lying or not. With that being said why enforce a 5% fee for metrics that the physical numbers are not provided. Oh that’s right because eBay doesn’t have the best interest of their sellers. Why would they do the right thing when they can just create a system to take advantage of people to rake in a couple extra hundred million.

@properthreadz

At least the sellers have a choice, to stay on eBay and sell at an extra 5 or 6% or leave.  They can recover and the extra fees get their attention.

If they are under the BBE initiative,  they don't get that chance, they are shown the door, with no chance to come back.

EBay has far too many sellers in the USA that should not even be allowed to even operate with the extra fees. They should be shown the door.

EBay should have implemented the BBE initiative world wide 15 years ago.

I do free returns as well and make it an absolute priority to curtail the number of INAD'S I receive. EBay got my attention when they rolled out seller metrics, when was it, fall of 2018 or 2019? As a fulltime seller, I had to take notice and action.

EBay certainly does not coddle sellers, nor should they. Buyers should always be at the top of the list.

You think it is tough here, you should try selling on AMZ. They provide automatic seller exits as well. EBay is far more lenient.  EBay is a country club for whiny, entitled  sellers.

The rules are really simple.  If any seller decides they don't want to abide by the rules anymore, they absolutely don't have to, but that also means they can't sell on this site either.   It is not unlawful for Ebay to have rules.  No one likes all the rules, but they are there and if you want to use the site you need to abide by the rules.  If you choose not to abide by the rules, then you don't need to use the site.

Murder is a bad example as that isn't what happens here.  This isn't about passing around vicious rumors or gossip.  Neither of which would matter much here.

Re: matrics

Vicious rumors? Didn’t know stating facts that a policy that subjects you to extra fees with no concrete information is a rumor. It is sheer FACT!!

Re: matrics

your wright funny how they seem to side of buyer first and seller second, even though the sellers are the ones making them the money, and we are the ones doing all the leg work to try and figure out tracking, which is impossible sometimes, so then your metrics drops and your get charged an extra 6% for the next 60 days till you get revaluated and hope you get put back in good standing, what's a seller to do, except look for other sites to sell on and there is one on the rise that I'm starting to work with, look for it you'll find it
