What happen to the option of marking "question answered"?

I have a person that keeps sending messages. Some I respond through my personal e-mail, but listing still shows question(s) open and I cannot update listing. 

When I do click on respond to question in eBay, it just goes to my eBay inbox and nothing is hi-lighted. 

This is just ridiculous! Stop the brain surgery changes and keep it simple for everyone (seller, buyer, & eBay).

I will also respond within my eBay in-box and still have the same results

Let me see if I can remember this without having one to go through to remember.
From Seller hub
Listings...click with questions..then the drop down next to the item showing a question and click mark as answered.
Sometimes it still takes a bit of time for it to drop off but that usually works.
I am sure some one will come along and explain it better than me if that makes no sense *L*

I had one that didn't drop off until the listing ended, so I had to see it for almost the whole 30 days.

It is a pain that it doesn't work like it's supposed to.

so I reviewed my open questions and looked over the page. It seems that the "action column" became smaller than normal. I expanded the column and now the drop down arrow is shown so I can mark questions answered.

When this happens I kindly ask that they don't respond once the question is answered because the ebay software forces us to respond. Or I just ignore their last "thank you for being the greatest ebay seller ever" message after three repeats. We can only take so many compliments at a time.

Thank you so much! I never would have thought to expand the action column. I just thought I had only one option - to respond to the question. And the "question" was just a thank you so I didn't know how to respond - thank you for the thank you? This could create an endless loop.

That option ("mark as answered") appears to have gone away, or they moved it, or they hid it, or they logged it into the "let's do one more thing to drive sellers crazy" file.
