I only have a few items right now and was wondering if I can cross-list on eBay and facebook marketplace. if it sold on one Id immediately delete the other post.
However I can't find if this is allowed on eBay. Does eBay require you list an item on its site only or is cross site listing allowed?

Ill look into multi listing software but I think, for now, I just won't include buy buttons in the other marketplaces just eBay to avoid problems

of course you can but be careful that you have enough time to cancel one of them.

you could always open another ebay site and listen on there as well - works well if you have 2 identical items

There are already so many potential things that can go wrong with a sale on ebay, I would not wish to add another one by cross listing single items.
I don’t even take the risk of listing items available for sale in my B&M store.
There have been numerous times in my physical store when two customers want the same item within minutes of one another, and often this will be an item which has sat there for years.
Not sure if this phenomenon would occur online, but I’m not prepared to test the theory.

I have been selling on ebay for 20+ years. I don't recollect anything about cross-listing. Especially, in the early days, ebay was like wild west, no hard and fast rules. I doubt that at that time, anybody at ebay cared about crosslisting, when they were actually the first game in town. years 1997-1998.

The only thing ebay requires is that you are in the physical possession of the item you offer on ebay. You can list it wherever you want. You do need to keep yourself organized, and to make sure it is deleted from the other sites after is is sold. Unless you sell thousands of items daily, for an average seller this shouldn't be a problem at all.

What? How so?

I just saw a youtube vid about a woman who was suspended from ebay for life and ebay would NOT tell her why. She researched a little and thinks maybe it was because of crosslisiting. That is probably an extreme example and may not be the reason as she never found out what the reason was.

When people are suspended the message they receive to notify them of the suspension tells them why. That woman was just looking for attention.
Also dragging up a post that's over a year old with this is not necessary.
