i was just told today by ebay that they "index" items and that indexing can take 24-48 hours to finish for the listing to go live. I currently have 1 listing that took an entire day for ebay to index, which my item was listed as a 7 day auction. So when that item went live it actually had 5 days 23hrs left! The auction clock starts ticking and ebay hasnt even finished "indexing" the item. How can this be? Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Most of my listings that get "indexed" are military related.

Every seller will experience their new listings taking up to 24 hours or more to index.
eBay has a policy for that Finding a listing

If a seller keeps tinkering with the listing after first listing it, the listing will take longer to index.

Hi there,
Just wanted to let you know that I did an EBAY search for "US military uniforms Vietnam" and your items do NOT appear. You may want to add the words "US military uniform" to your title line.

Auctions don't get much traction until the last 30 minutes or so anyway...so best not to worry about it.

It can take 24 hours for a listing to index in search. If you revise the listing the clock may restart.
While longer index times are most common for new sellers, even well-established sellers that typically experience near instant indexing can see the longer indexing time depending what they're listing from item, to category, to key words, to price.

When you create a listing, your item should appear in eBay searches within 24 hours. To find it, search using keywords in your listing, and apply filters to narrow your results.
If you can’t find your listing after 24 hours, go to Selling and check whether it’s active, in draft, or has any other status. The listing needs to be active to be pulled into our search results.
If your listing is active, and it’s been 24 hours, here are some quick checks you can do:
