Hello folks! I am new here. I did not sign up extra to pay monthly for a special store. So I am under the impression that each month I get 250 free listings. What I am confused about is this: at the end of the month of May, I will already have my 250 listings out on eBay. I will get my next allotment of 250 free listings. Can I post 250 more NEW items and be ok without getting hit with fees or because there are already 250 items listed out there, would I get hit with those charges when those 250 items renew for the month since I list all my items as Buy it Now? Next, question then is this: comparatively which is the cheaper route to go? Pay the fees for listing each item over the free 250 or pay the monthly charge to list more and how many more are you allowed to list by paying that monthly fee? Thank you in advance for any answers you can provide me.

Each month, you get 250 free insertions which can be used for (1) new listings; (2) relists; or (3) when your fixed price listings roll over each month. Fixed price listings roll over each month on the same date that they started and if a free insertion is available that rollover will use it up; if no free insertion is available you'll be charged for the insertion fee. For instance, if you set up a fixed price listing today, it will roll over on June 27, July 27, August 27, etc. (unless it sells of course), and will use up one of your monthly free insertions each time.

Here are links to eBay pages which will help you with that decision. With a Starter store subscription you just get the same 250 as with no store. With a Basic store subscription you will get more free insertions but the quantity depends on which categories you list in. Also remember that every seller has listing limits, and signing up for a Store subscription has no effect on those limits.

good info from Nobody's Perfect..........
on the when do I get a store question..........do the math......the insertion fee of 35c is charged after the initial 250 free listings.. It makes no sense to immediately bump up to a store after you hit the 250........it does make sense once you get to the break even point, depending on which basic store version you chose .........monthly or yearly subscription. example......$22 for store ./. .35=62 listings......

In your sellers hub, look for the section called Promotional Offers. This section keeps a running total of your listing totals.

You get 250 total a month.
If you have 200 left from last month, you can list 50 new items for the month.

It's "250 listings per month", but it allows the item to be listed for only one month. So unless you end a listing and replace it with a new listing, once you have 250 listings up, you've used your allotment until something sells.
To get more listings, upgrade to a bigger store. You'll run a great chance of selling with more stuff if you can get repeat customers and people to browse your store.

Also to highlight, and repeat

nobody*s posted
Also remember that every seller has listing limits, and signing up for a Store subscription has no effect on those limits.

Again.............. paying for a store "will not" increase any selling limits ( # of listings, or $$ amount) that you presently have, if any.

No, you cannot list additional 250 every month. If you have 250 already listed and those rollover to a new month (that means you used up the 250 allotment).

SOMETIMES when items auto-relist they count against your 250 free listings, but USUALLY they don't. This allows users to have more than 250 listings even with a free account. I currently have 1200+ listings & only utilize the free 250/month

With over 1200 fixed price listings I can't understand how you wouldn't be charged each time they renew. I've never had mine not count upon relist/roll over.

@mordecai8614 you have a store. With a store you no longer get the "250" free.
You get the listings you pay for with your store.

I don't see a store link on their FB page or anywhere else. Where are you seeing a store for that seller @klhmdg ?

I've never seen anyone else report that. I'm very confused by your situation, if you truly don't pay additional insertion fees per month (you should be looking at somewhere around $300+ in listing fees per month based on what I see, although some of your items are auctions which tweaks that a bit, but not many).

What's confusing? I'm saying that when items auto-relist they usually don't count against your monthly allotment (at least for free accounts).
Also, how could I be paying listing fees if I'm not maxing out my free listings? You can't. And why would I pay $300/month in listing fees instead of paying much less for a store? That would make no sense

No store. Free 250/month listings
