how to find out when a buyers note was added to a ebay sale....
i received payment, and i posted the item based on the shipping address i use google maps to check the address (i thought all good...) parcel is on it`s way
a few weeks later the parcel was returned to me "undelivered"
looked back at the order to see if i made a mistake on the address... no all good...address is correct
BUT then i notice a "buyers note" saying the letter box is in a back side alley with a different street name (rear of original address"
we print the labels same day and ship next morning
SO my question is: how to know when the buyers note was added to the sale, as i think it was added after i sent the parcel.
Cheers,
Richard

Buyer notes are added when making payment. They are easy to miss.

Doesn't really matter. The buyer is responsible for having the correct address posted on Ebay. If he receives mail at that letterbox the post office knows it. I guess if you had known you may have been able to add it on the parcel, but it's the buyer's responsibility.
I would refund to buyer and relist. If he wants to purchase again he needs to update address.

If you noticed the buyers note, it was added at the time of the sale.
It can not be added after the sale.
That being said, in this case it doesn't matter what the buyers note said or when you received it.
If you shipped it to the address on the ebay shipping label, you are covered.
If the buyer files a INR (item not received) case, they will lose. you will win.
It's the buyers responsibility that the shipping address they provide to ebay is deliverable.
If the package is returned to you you are not obligated to reship it or refund the buyer.
However after receiving the item back most of us would refund the the buyer the price of the item MINUS shipping.

yes we try to print/pack/send ASAP to keep the postage times to a minimum, but yeah i did not even see the note.... just printed the label via Austpost and posted the item...
no real problem other than the person who bought the item has go incognito ... i cant contact them, and strange enough they have not raised a question back to me with a " where is my parcel" ??
i have done all i can to contact her left voice mail, left text message, message on ebay messages
give her two weeks? then i suppose i just refund her the money...

"However after receiving the item back most of us would refund the the buyer the price of the item MINUS shipping."
YES this is what i will do, (if they don`t contact me within 2 weeks)
**what about the commission? should i deduct the Ebay fees from the refund as well?

Would not refund unless/until you hear from the buyer. Perhaps her mail carrier is accustomed to delivering her packages to the location mentioned in the message.

Yes i will wait 2 weeks... i think that is plenty of time for them to contact me.

I believe when you refund the buyer ebay refunds your fees as well,
so no need to deduct it from the buyers refund.
