how to add postage charges in a listing that has already been paid ?

Hi there ,

I made my first listing and took my first order . Item located in Greece . Buyer paid for the product but not for postage , as long as I wasn't aware of his location , at the time of listing . After completing the order and paid for it , I can't find the way to add postage charges . Please help

Re: how to add postage charges in a listing that has already been paid ?

That listing sold April 22nd and you didn't ship it yet? Not good if you plan on selling anything else.
Once a buyer has paid you cannot add additional postage, you also are not allowed to ask the buyer for more money after a transaction has been paid. The time to fix shipping costs is before you make a sale not after.
That listing sold with free freight shipping, the cost to ship comes out of your pocket.

You don't. Your listing says free shipping, that means you pay to ship the item.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

thanks for bothering . That means that I made a false listing . I messaged the buyer and asked him to cancel his order and relist it with the postal charges , but didn't reply . What do you suggest me to do ? Should I cancel the order or send it eventhough its a loss for me ?

It stings but we all learn from shipping mistakes.

The buyer purchased what you had listed, you should ship and just learn from it.

Buyers can’t cancel transactions, buyers can only request it, sellers have the ability to cancel. eBay also gives a buyer a few days after purchase to request the cancellation. Since the sale was April 22nd the buyer can no longer request to cancel.
If you cancel your only option would be as out of stock which will affect your Bad Buyer Experience negatively.

The best thing to do is ship, eat the shipping cost and make your buyer happy.

@almanousakis:

   You are in Greece with possibly different eBay procedures and execution of policies for canceling an order than we have here in the USA. But in general, by cancelling the order you would get a "Bad Buyer Experience" demerit on your performance metrics. Since you have so few feedbacks, that will hurt your account and potentially put you "Below Standard" with a big hill for you to climb. The potential buyer could justifiably be very upset and may give you a negative feedback, which could will also hurt you a lot. But cancelling the order as "Out of Stock" is an option for you, if you are willing to run the risk of hurting your selling privileges.

   I recommend that you ship the item, swallow your medicine, and take the loss. Then get more wise about the reality of shipping costs and procedures.

Cheers, Duffy

No, it's not a false listing.

Buyers can't cancel an order, only the seller can.

Either ship and take a hit on the shipping or cancel the order as out of stock and take a hit on your account and possible negative feedback.

Have A Great Day.

Very happy that you helped me figure out what was happening . Unfortunately ebay help center didn't helped me at all . I finally sent the item with no extra hcarge for the buyer . It was my mistake - not his . Thanks again !!!

Re: how to add postage charges in a listing that has already been paid ?

@almanousakis

One thing I noticed on that listing is that you don't even say what the item is.  I looked at the listing and I still don't know what those things are.  I'm surprised the buyer even found them without the name of them in the listing title.    I just hope the buyer knew what he was buying and bought the correct thing that he needed.

Your listing says no returns but you should be aware that eBay's Money Back Guarantee will override your no returns policy.  If the buyer gets those "pieces" and files an "item not as described" claim, if you want them back, you will have to pay the postage to get them back and then refund him upon your receipt of them, or if it isn't worth it to pay return postage, you can just give him a refund and let him keep them.

I understand you are in Greece and eBay policies may be a bit different but I think the policies will be pretty much the same on returns.

Hi , thanks for mentioning the lack of info for my listing . I will have it in mind for my future listings .
 It is an electronics spare part and I think that with the codes provided , the buyer will understand what he is buying . Nevertheless let’s hope that I will not have any issues .

Didn’t know about the returns policy . Thanks a lot for your comment . I will be more cautious from now on . Cheers !!!

They're feet for an LG flatscreen TV, for situations where you don't want to mount the TV on the wall.

For some reason the base hardware for freestanding TVs seems enormously popular for resale, even though to my knowledge most every flatscreen ships with that hardware included.

Okay, thank you.  I have an LG flatscreen, have used them, and still didn't recognize what they were.  And I'm still amazed that a buyer found them without any name in the title.

You send it at a loss to you and use it as a lesson learned.
