So I called into ebay and they claim nothing is wrong..
Back in july I had a "very high" item not received message come through.... bad month with USPS losing stuff, go figure...
Since then my sales have been crushed, down anywhere from 20-40% monthly from my normal.
I've had a few messages about it, and got another tonight which made me finally call..asking why their delivery estimate was 10 days.... (I use standard shipping category on most of my listings, which should be 1-5 days, plus a 1 day handling)
From the message back in July..."Time automatically added to delivery estimates for listings in the shipping categories and listing sites where your rate is very high"
I think this is somehow still applying to me... but ebay doesn't even seem to understand the message that I"m reading to them... I asked where I can even see that metric and they didn't have an answer. I do not see it in my dashboard or metrics anywhere. I see items not as described, returns, etc. but no metric for items not received.
What am I missing here, does anyone have any advice?? This is so frustrating, I've lost a good bit of $ in sales this summer and this is the only thing I can think of as to why!

update..im stupid and found where it shows the metric. it shows adjusted to average due to less than 10 claims in the 3 month period.
How the heck is my estimated shipping time 10-11 days going from same zip code to zip code...
There's no way something is not wrong..any suggestions?

Everybody's sales are down right now, so is the economy. Reports in the media make it clear ebay's sellers lost billions of dollars in sales this year so far as compared to last year. ebay's GMV is still crashing hard as well.
Either way, I doubt that longer shipping estimates would cause your sales to plummet much, especially given you have so many watchers right now. I have a ton of watchers too, and days on end of zero sales, and that's with over 1,100 listings.
All we can really do is hope sales pick up for the Holidays, but the state of the economy will dictate much of what happens next.
I get your pain too, as it stands I do not have enough to pay my seller fees that are due tomorrow 😞
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed they dont delete all of my listings, that was their response once before. This is a very scary situation for a lot of us I'm sure.

What is your handling time that you set up on your listings? That is the likely issue. Take a peek at that.

There are many sellers that are experiencing slower / lower than normal sales for this time of year. But certainly not "everyone".
The site is certainly having some significant programming issues and those selling if Fashions have been particularly hard hit with them.
The GMV is NOT "crashing". It is suffering to be sure, but you are overstating what is actually happening.

For anyone that is interesting is where Ebay currently is with the GMV and other financial indicators, here are some links for you to review and form your own opinions.

I think you are right...... from Ohio to PA, standard shipping....... 10/29 order, delivery 11/7........
just for the heck of it, change the shipping on one to Priority and see if delivery changes.....
brian@ebay Is this related to the late penalty? And, since he is now average.......should the penalty still be applied?

It's strange, some of them are now showing a range, showing "estimated betweeny november 6 and november 14"
I don't recall seeing a range like that before.
Most of them that I just checked show a range like that, one I just found is showing an estimated delivery of the nov 14th.. it has 1 day handling.
That cannot be right!! That item is https://www.ebay.com/itm/121735998042
I changed to priority, and it knocked it down to Nov 13..so 1 day difference. It is the 4th... that's not right.
I understand sales are probably down a bit for many but, mine hit me like a wall and it can't just be a coincidence. I could see a slow decline but that wasn't the case here.
I'm at a loss, and do not have time to spend hours on the phone with people at ebay that don't seem to know what I'm even talking about. Not sure what else to do. This stinks!!!

Standard shipping shows 1-5 business days deliver so with one day handling that would actually mean the buyer would see 2-6 business days because the days you mail it doesn't count . On that listing I see Nov. 14 using a California zip. With 1 day handling that works out to 6 business days since Nov. 11 is a holiday. Using a Cleveland zip, the eta is Nov. 7-12 which would be 2-4 business days.

The listing I looked at has a 24 hour handling, Standard Shipping ( 7-9 days) and shows delivery of Nov. 14, from Ohio to Michigan. 10 days is way too long. I'm wondering if the shipping was changed to First Class Mail if that would change delivery times.
That is not 10 business days.
A seller with 0-1 day handling time and choosing Standard shipping, which is 1-5 days. Those are NOT calendar days, those are business days. For a maximum of 6 Business days.
Item purchased today must ship by tomorrow 11-5.
11-6, 7 & 8 are the next 3 business days.
11-9 & 10 don't count as they are the weekend, non business days.
11-11 Is a Federal holiday and does not count.
11-12 & 13th are days 4 & 5.
11-14 is the 6 business day and the day the package is due to the buyer.

I wasn't going to reply to your post but I can not just sit here and allow you to put your nose into where it doesn't fit.
First off: let me say that I looked at those listings as a BUYER would look.
Second: As a BUYER I'm seeing a 10 day delivery date Nov. 4 - Nov. 14. I am not thinking "Oh wait, that's 'business days'" What I see as a BUYER is 10 days and that's too long for something to ship from Ohio to Michigan. Especially when said item can ship in a manilla envelope for First Class postage.
Then: I would expect, AS A BUYER if I bought something today on Nov. 4 with one day handling that it should be delivered to me no later than Friday the 8th, no matter what shipping class is used.
Lastly: I'm still wondering what that change from Standard Shipping to First Class Mail would do to delivery time.

What? I'm not allowed to post on this thread? Why?
What I described in my earlier posting isn't a justification on what is showing on someones listing, just how the delivery date can seem a bit far out in some cases. Ebay has always only considered business days in the calculation. What I described isn't new, but it is correct.
IMHO more buyers do understand the difference between business days and non business days. Of course your experience may be different, I respect that.
For someone purchasing on the 4th to expect the item by the 8th is really darn quick. Even if it was same day shipping. But with a 0-1 day handling time the seller has until midnight the next business day to have the package postmarked. The selection of Standard shipping is 1-5 days. But you only want to allow a couple of days.
Standard shipping is 1-5 days.
USPS first class package is 2-3 days
