feedback

A negative feedback was left on me: the buyer bought 1 unit as listed, discounted from $19.99 t9 $9.99, received ok, no complaint, but wanted me to send him 4 more no charge, saying he was mislead as a reason, what is clearly false. Otherwise he was putting a negative feedback on me. I refused and offered him to reimburse. No return from him and he did the negative feedback. ebay lowered my rating from 100% to 94.7%. They refuse to remove it even it is clear that the buyer is wrong, saying anybody have the right to give negative feedback, under whatever circonstances for any reason, and the seller can do nothing to reply to it. Any thieve or crook can destroy an honest seller who does not accept to let him steel his stock. It happened end of december and since then I get no more sale. I have 145 sales and no negative feedback.

Re: feedback

You still have one left for sale. You'd better clean up that listing before this happens again.

Re: feedback

You seem to see what you want to see.  I looked at your remarks and some things I will keep in mind.

But you have to realize that ebay does the final listing presentation.

The seller follows ebay's recommendation and relies on ebay's help when buyers seem wrong, not following ebay's policy.

Thanks for your advice.

I don't understand where you are getting that ebay does the final listing presentation.  Sure, they place the items on the page where they want for uniformity, but all aspects of what is included & how the items are offered for sale is up to you and your wording (sans the use of AI in the description if you choose to do that).   You create the title, you take the photos & you are totally responsible for all these details plus the item specifics, description & shipping.

Oh no they don't.  Sellers have rules to follow on listings and then there are recommendations [suggestions] that Ebay makes.  In the pic below, taken directly from one of your listings, maybe you will notice a statement that Ebay puts on ALL listings.

"Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing."

You seem to want to throw out all the advice you are getting here by sellers that have been successfully been selling on this site for decades.  It appears you feel you know more than they do.  That is pretty a pretty dangerous stance for you to take.  You have the right to take it, but in time, when the health of your account is so damaged it is as risk, you may think differently about the advice you have gotten here.

Re: feedback

Putting 16 in the title only works until the first one is sold.

It's possible that the buyer knew that it was unlikely that they were going to get 16 for that one price.

But the problem is:  You opened the door to them to claim that they should get 16.

Next time. Leave the 16 out of the title.

Re: feedback

Except that 16 in the title could easily confuse the buyer to think they are getting 16 items, supported by the pics too.

Re: feedback

The most important thing is what is written by ebay to best inform the buyer.

Sign of emergency, buy it now!

16 were listed, 11 are sold, only 6 left.

This, ebay did the right way.

Now the buyer has to read it and operate by what is written.

The photos are there just to let the buyer see what he will buy.

The photos show the buyer will receive 16 pieces. What was written by you was plural and included the number 16, leaving the impression the buyer would receive 16 pcs.

The most important things are your photos, title and description - all 3 of which were unclear.

Ebay does NOT write your listings.  You write them or you may use an AI program.  Either way, you are responsible for the Content of your listing.

You have some serious misunderstanding about your responsibilities on Ebay that will eventually get you into enough trouble to harm the health of your selling account.

Many here are trying to help you, but you seem to feel you know more than those that have sold thousands and thousands and thousands of item over a long period of time being an active seller.

Have you taken any time to read the User Agreement that you agreed to when during your account set up process?  If not, you really should.

Part of Section 9, CONTENT

You represent and warrant that, for all such content you provide, you own or otherwise control all necessary rights to do so and to meet your obligations under this User Agreement. You represent and warrant that such content is accurate, appropriate, and legal. You represent and warrant that use of any such content (including derivative works) by us, our users, or others in contract with us, and in compliance with this User Agreement, does not and will not infringe any Intellectual Property Rights of any third party. eBay takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any content provided by you or any third party.

https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/member-behaviour-policies/user-agreement?id=4259#section9

That means ALL sellers are responsible for the content of their listings.  You are NOT an exception to that.

Yes, buyers should read, but the way you have your listings set up, buyers have no idea what they are buying.

This listing:

"4 KEYS WURLITZER: 2=WUA 1 2= 2C2608 NEW EACH"

You show 4 keys, your title says 4 keys and buyer will expect to the 4 keys, not 1.

Have a great day.

Re: feedback

Re: feedback

To add to this good guidance:

I would take another step and forego mention of what the handle(s) sold for previously.

Rubbing it in my face that I am now paying over 3 times as much for the item would not impress me in the right way.

Re: feedback

Come on! When you click to open, you see written in big letters: $13.99 each.

When you go to the description, you see in the middle very clearly: $13.99 each.

If this not enough to make you understand that you are buying only one for $13.99, don't buy on the internet.

Ebay takes what I have entered on my listing page and I am only responsible for what I write there, not with what ebay do with it because I have no control on that. When I sell i on 16, ebay write on the listing: Listed 16, 1 sold, available 15. They don't ask me to redo the listing, because it is very clear like that.

The buyer says : it is written nowhere that it is for only 1. She is lying because it is written clearly at the 2 most important locations. Ebay prints that in my feedback but don't tell the viewers that this is not true, and give me no chance to rectify it.

Re: feedback

It is written at the 2 most visible sites that it is for only 1.

When there 16 for sale, it needs a s.
