feedback

A negative feedback was left on me: the buyer bought 1 unit as listed, discounted from $19.99 t9 $9.99, received ok, no complaint, but wanted me to send him 4 more no charge, saying he was mislead as a reason, what is clearly false. Otherwise he was putting a negative feedback on me. I refused and offered him to reimburse. No return from him and he did the negative feedback. ebay lowered my rating from 100% to 94.7%. They refuse to remove it even it is clear that the buyer is wrong, saying anybody have the right to give negative feedback, under whatever circonstances for any reason, and the seller can do nothing to reply to it. Any thieve or crook can destroy an honest seller who does not accept to let him steel his stock. It happened end of december and since then I get no more sale. I have 145 sales and no negative feedback.

Re: feedback

It appears that listing was 6 months ago according to feedback. Looking at the title of the drawer pulls it does say 16 and also says DRAWER PULL HANDLES ( meaning more than one) Which IMO, is misleading.
CHINESE VINTAGE SOLID BRASS DRAWER PULL HANDLES 1950'S 2 1/4 x 1'' ORIGINALS 16 (#264619516640)

eBay isn't going to remove it for several reasons..such as

It doesn't violate feedback policy, it is the buyers opinion of how the transaction went.

It is more than 60 days old.

Re: feedback

Did you really tell the buyer that you were not santa and that eBay was going to discipline the Buyer?

Whatever you do, don't respond to the feedback by accusing the buyer or arguing as it will just make the feedback look worse.

Perhaps try a short, highly professional response that reflects well on the service you provide to buyers. Or leave no response at all and move on.

Re: feedback

Wanting 4 more for free and not getting it, then leaving negative fb

This is clearly,feedback extortion.

Call ebay back and point this out, its a violation of ebay policy by the buyer

Re: feedback

Just wondering...  What DOES the "16" in the ad title mean?

Re: feedback

You state it's per piece in the description, but the title and photos are misleading.  You show 16 pulls in the main photo and have "16" in the title.  Some buyers would expect to get 16 pieces for the $13.95, others would see the line where you say 1 is $13.95.

Re: feedback

I have to agree with the buyer that the listing was very confusing and misleading.

  • Title shows 16
  • Picture shows 16
  • Price shows US $13.95 so the assumption IS that it's for the 16 shown

Listing shows a b.o. option which buyer claims to have used for the purchase of 5.

Although the seller claims the buyer purchased 1 item (and sent one), why would the buyer pay $25 for 1 item when they're $13.95 each? It seems clear to me that the buyer was purchasing more than one item.

Re: feedback

Why did you wait so long @gauth-andre ?  If the feedback is more than 60 days old, Ebay won't do anything about it as it is too old.

From the title I can see where they got the number 16.  So I think there was some mistakes in the listing that could have created this mess.

Re: feedback

I contacted ebay on dec 23, and I had a return on feb 9.

I sold a few 1 or 2 at a time. I never had any   come back. The original listing was for 16. The quantity left went down each time. When she bought her handle, it was specified on the listing: 16 listed, 10 sold, 6 left.

It was specified  $13.95 each every time. On the description it clearly shows $13.95 each.

ebay policy is that the buyer has to read everything (otherwise violate ebay policy). When she bought the handle, it was written clearly: 16 for sale, 10 sold, available 6, price $13.95 each. How can it be specified more clearly?

ebay is writing the listing on the site, not me! This is exactly the way I made my listing. If they did not list it correctly, they are the one responsible and should step in and fix it wright.

More, she offered me $9.00 when I was asking $13.99. These new  high quality brass handles were selling for S5.00CN each in 1990.

I did everything the right way, the buyer is clearly wrong wanting to get things for free,  ebay don't take their responsibility,  and they  penalise me. If they absolutely let buyers say anything they want, then I should be able to reply to the feedback, and it should not show on my rating in the listings.

She said she needed 4 more. Strange: another buyer just bought 4 more for $13.95 each plus shipping, and did not ask for the 16.

What does that mean?  Why did it state 16 in the title?

Re: feedback

Looks misleading to me.
Everything I see indicates "plural" and "16"
And a photo of 16.
Right up until the very end in the description.
WHICH, could be viewed as price for "each LOT" of 16
If you are only selling ONE at a time, then list ONE, with a photo of ONE, and a description of ONE pull.
Not "pulls".
Then you add quantity in the box to be checked during purchase.

Re: feedback

Here's a problem. When you do a photo...buyers assume they receive everything in the photo.

If you are selling "one"...you show one in the photo.

I wish all buyers could read a description and title and understand what it means...but alas, they don't.

And if the item is purchased on a cell phone or iPhone the buyer doesn't even see much other than a photo.

I suggest doing a photo of what is being sold...not showing multiples.

Re: feedback

Very simple to understand. I have 16 to sell. You can buy 16 or only 1, and you pay for the number you buy. If I list one it is $13.95. If I sell the lot it will be $111.20. Not everybody will want to buy the whole lot, so you have the choice. So ebay writes in the listing: $13.95 EACH.  When we open a listing, there is a place to indicate that it is for the lot, and ebay place it in the listing.

The way ebay operate is this. When I sell five, they adapt the listing to offer what is left to sell. If I sold 5, they write: on the 16 listed, 5 are sold,  11 are available. Look at all the different listings on ebay and you will see that often. It remains the same photo because they are all the same. Otherwise I would have to start a new listing every time with a new photo, meaning 16 different photos if it is sold i at a time.. The buyer sees $13.95 EACH at 2 different places. And ebay's policy for the buyer is to read everything, all the information available, and not only look at a photo. But ebay seems not to care much about regulations not respected by buyers. I followed exactly their instructions. If for any reason something may confuse the buyer, then ebay has to take the blame and make any change that may be required because they are the only one to have acces to the final listing.  If it is their error, then don't blame the seller.
