ending old listings to refresh my store

Hi all,

Do you think it would be worthwhile to end some listings that have been running for 4-5 months and relist them ?  I think they would get better placement in search results.  BUT I do have a few of those with 10-12 watchers so I don't know if I want to lose that.  Just looking for opinions.

TIA

Me, too, and then got a sudden rash of sales.

I was about to stop bothering but now I figure a few minutes once or twice a month is worth it.

Re: ending old listings to refresh my store

Watchers mean nothing as most of them are just carried over from month to month.

Yes end and then relist changing your title and make small changes to the listings that might appeal to buyer. I have also found that raising the price brings new interest. Also periodically end the listings sporadically on their last day to make title revisions as this places the item higher in the search. Don't worry about last minute sales for BIN listings like occur with auctions. BIN can sell anytime during the month and many sell right after listing. Also do not pay attention to Ebay's selling suggestions - you know what is best for you.

There are many times that it is necessary to wait for he perfect buyer - I have had to carry items for several years but eventually everything sells. For example I have a man's XXL cashmere sweater with deer antlers on it. Definitely only appeals to a very large man who loves deer hunting and has the funds to afford cashmere.

If you have enough listings left just keep carrying the items.

Just realize that times are difficult right now with Ebay's constant buyer favored changes. Just hope that the hierarchy comes to their senses while the venue still is profitable. Based on this quarterly report Ebay would have to continue buying back its own stock to appear looking profitable. This maneuver can only work for so long.

That doesn't mean that won't change.  Especially the closer we get to the holidays.  You may consider to keep trying and see if your luck improves.

Do you realize that the watchers carry over each time a 30 day listing is relisted. I have watchers on my items from when the these relistings became mandatory 30 days long. These watchers just probably don't erase the items from their watch lists.
