How do I find a member?

Some time ago a potential buyer asked me if I had a certain product. I did not at the time but it has now become available. It is unusual enough I am betting he has not found it anywhere else. I know his user name but how do I send him an email (through eBay messaging of course) to let him know.

There used to be a link "find a member" - does that still exist somewhere?

This link should let you look up a member's feedback page:

https://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/feedback-login.html

Not sure if that link still appears on any pages -- it might be worth bookmarking.

How do I find a member?

eBay removed the find a member feature. The fastest way is to use the below link and replace USERNAME with your buyer's ID. From there click on the buyer's feedback and use the contact link on their feedback page.

ebay.com/usr/USERNAME

You can also do an advanced search by seller, and enter in that ID. It will bring up listings if they are also a seller, if not, it will bring up the page but with no listings. Then just click on the feedback # and then contact member.

Nope. Doesn't work that way. I just tried it with your posting id, and nothing came up. I tried your posting id and both of my buyer-only ids. Nada.

It only works if the person has or has had a selling account.

That did it. Thank you. Brought up his feedback profile page with a "contact member" link. Just what I needed.

Thanks again.

This also worked. Thanks. Added to my bookmarks.

Interesting - you're right. I've always used that, though, and after 22 years, I guess just about anyone I looked up has/had sold on that account(although I don't look them up very often).

That technique worked well to find any user up until very recently, I think. Possibly around the time feedback pages started changing last year, that search stopped displaying the username and feedback as clickable links if there were no results when searching current or recently ended listings.

Figures.

Thanks for the info - I thought I was going nuts.
