Received another invite to enroll in managed payments a couple weeks ago.  Have not yet enrolled.

Just received another email stating I had to enroll by May 31 to take advantage of 2.7% processing fees.

Does that mean the processing fee will rise for those who enroll after that date?

I believe Paypal is now or shortly will be available in the Manage Payment system.

I wish they'd roll it out to the ebayshippingsupplies seller.

With Preypal soon to not refund the 2.9 on cancellations and returns, managed payments through Ayden is suddenly looking good...I would grab the chance. Assuming of course that ebay doesn't start keeping the fees on returns/cancellations, and then I would cry foul with the buyer is always right philosophy.

PP hasn't announced when they are going to implement this.  For now all we know is that they aren't doing it at this time.  It could be weeks, months or years.  We just don't know.

Hi All,

Thanks for your responses.  Appreciate hearing from everyone.

The major stumbling block for me is a matter of trusting eBay to dabble in my bank account without muddling it up.  Remember the great site hack a couple of years ago?

It is my understanding based on what some MP participants have stated that not all of them can currently accept Paypal.  In fact, I received an email from eBay stating that they are rolling out Paypal acceptance ability to "more" MP members.

What about paying for shipping labels?  I use eBay's Shiptrack bulk label printing system which utilizes money in my Paypal account.  Anyone know how MP handles this?

I will probably set up a separate bank account to handle MP finances - to keep eBay away from my current accounts.  Is anyone being charged by their bank for daily deposits from MP?

Then you should be fine.  Ebay has NO ability to "dabble" in your bank account.

The site hacking was over 5 years ago.

Ebay has been open about PP.  They are currently AHEAD of schedule.  Last year they said PP would be available in MP in the Summer of 2019.  Ebay started rolling this out in the SPRING of 2019.  So everyone in MP should have it soon.

You will have to fund your PP account.  Ebay shipping labels will continue to pull payment from PP.  So you will just need to make sure funds are available in your PP account to cover shipping charges.

Have a question about MP and shipping labels: so I make a sale, ebay takes 3-5 days to dump the money into my bank account. Then I go to my bank account and transfer monies over to PP to allow me to do ebay ship labels. And, no, I will not give them my CC info, but plan in the future to set up a separate account with my bank for eBay deposits. So...the time line for me for my handling should be extended from 2-3 days to ship to maybe 7? Unless I am just confused about all of it.

It will require ALL sellers to plan ahead.  Everyone has plenty of lead time to plan for this issue.  Even if you only put away a dollar a week, by the time you have to join the program you would have plenty of money set aside so that you don't have to extend your handling time.

If a seller insists they won't plan ahead and just extend their handling time, the only one that gets hurt by that is the seller.

Sorry I agree with him about the thieving ebay does. Its like GTC that was 100% to make them money even though its hurting thousands of customers. Ebay does what they do no matter who they harm so why WOULD WE want to pay them one more red cent.  I pray every night ebay goes under then and only then will they think back and say .... **bleep** they were right we should have left things the way they were when the sellers made us one of the biggest platforms out there. But until then I pray !!!!

Yet you sell here.

You do realize that if you get what you "pray" for that a whole lot of people will be financially injured.  You are praying for others to be hurt.  Why?  There are many reasons why people come her to sell stuff.  They are from all walks of like and have all kinds of different life's challenges.  Some of these sellers have no way of making money as they are home bound for one reason or another.

This is not a simple issue.  It is complex and it would affect millions of people just across the US in a negative way.

Not to mention business expenses are often paid up front or in some ongoing fashion from separate funds anyway.

If someone is so broke they can’t afford to buy postage until that exact customer’s money is available, their business model is teetering anyway.

Interesting how those who don't want to enroll get invited and those who do, don't. I've made the request a few times and heard crickets. With paypal now included, don't see why you wouldn't enroll.

I'll share my reasons.

1.  PP must be accepted [yes I know it is on it's way and will be part of MP for everyone in it soon]

2. Ability to issue partial refunds without making a buyer open a SNAD.

3. Dang there was another reason, but it escapes me right now, sorry.

1 reason for me will be all the additional transfers of $. More time and more busy work for me and my bank. With paypal I have a balance I can siphon from when buying. Now I will have to transfer money to my bank and then back to my paypal balance. I make a lot of purchaces and don`t like to use my card but for backup.

It isn't likely to take so much time as to make any differences whatsoever.  Unless you do it daily or something like that.  Then I can see it being annoying.  I have no intention of doing that.  I will decide on a reasonable balance to keep in PP with the time comes.  And replenish it as needed.  Maybe monthly.  I don't know yet.  But transferring money to PP literally only takes a hand full of seconds.  Nothing more.

I`m wondering what the chances are of this NOT happening?? My guess.....it`s a certainty once we are all corralled in.

I have to say I’ll miss the one stop business income/expense simplicity of EBay money just going into PayPal. Sigh.

I could not agree with you more.  While the MP program is making improvements, it will not ever be as friendly or as flexible as PP is.  Etsy uses Adyen.  While they run far smoother and have more abilities than Ebay's MP, still it is shaded by the abilities of PP.  There is just no comparison IMHO.
